Hey Guys,

I've got a little problem here...

First my Laptop:CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 @2,1GHz
GPU: nVidia GeForce 8600M GS 256 MB
RAM: 4GB DDR3

OS: Windows Vista Business
Version: Windows Vista SP2
DirectX: DirectX 10

Description of the problem (from another thread) : I log in, I click ENTER GAME NOW button, the little blue guy pops up and then the game loading window with all the game tips at the bottom of the screen pops up and begins downloading the game. It loads 1/4 to 1/2 of the loading progress bar and then and error message pops up saying: "There was a connection problem. Please reenter the game again.". [...] How do I fix it so I can get the game to load properly. No, my internet didn't lose connection, nor did it crash during loading.
This describes it pretty much.

I first got the problem when trying to get on Amun, short after Stage 9 got implemented. I de-installed the game today (since I wanted to test stage 10 on Amun and I knew it wouldn't work). I deleted the last bits of the dir where Regnum Online was being installed, too.
The path of the directory now is "E:\Program Files\NGD Studios\Regnum Online new tech" (I also tried "E:\NGD Studios\Regnum Onlinenew tech" before).

After reinstall the problem got even worse. I can't enter any of the servers anymore.
Run as administrator doesn't work either.

If I forgot something, please feel free to ask.

regards
ice

Did you check download all resources at once? Try the opposite setting of what you used.

Ok, in that case, could you search for the error logs and post them here?

I hope that this is the correct log :D (not that I was able to chose from different logs, but still)

According to the last lines, it looks like it is caused by textures. Please try setting a lower shader model in Options or set Terrain multitexturing at low in Advanced Options.

tried all shaders - nothing
graphical settings as low as possible - nothing either

Is it possible that Firewall, Antivirus or any kind of those annoying (yet medium useful) programs block Regnum connection (TCP) which makes it drop it?
Did you configure Firewall like Kailer posted (http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/forum/showthread.php?t=24771)?
Do you have in your Firewall option "Gaming mode"? If so, try it.

Is your game set to use DirectX? It might be using OpenGL as accelerator and that won't run smooth on every Windows installation.

it has been configured like this and still is like this^^ and no, no "Gaming Mode" available...

Tried this too, doesn't help either...

Did you try upgrading your videocard drivers? Otherwise, just remove Regnum from your computer(completely, the resource files too, especially the resource files) and install it again.

Nothing new(er) to be found... Neither I do nor some automated driver searching tools do.
Driver version: 8.16.11.8186 (nVidia)

Otherwise, just remove Regnum from your computer(completely, the resource files too, especially the resource files) and install it again.one of the first things I've tried :( But I think I'll give it another shot...

Didn't think of this yet, will try it :)

Re-COE (reinstall windows).
won't do that... reinstalling windows would need many updates to be downloaded and installed, which can take days with my internet connection's speed. But thank you for the idea :)

Ok guys! Thanks to all of you who helped me out with this one! :)

NOW, as it seems, I can play normally again - means the problem is solved.

Here's how I did it:
I downloaded the game again and reinstalled it with the newly downloaded installer.
I, TOO, downloaded the graphic card's driver again (the same as I had before) and reinstalled it. (there was a message telling me that the drivers were broken or something like that, but I didn't see it. According to the date it's been broken for quite a while though, so it may or may not be the problem which caused me the trouble with Regnum)

I can't tell which one of it really was the problem, but it now works so that I can play again (if I want to). In the time I wasn't able to play Regnum I tried another game (NFS World) which I probably will keep playing for a while now, though I hope the update makes me that curios of Regnum that I want to at least test the update when it goes life (or rather I will of course test the update [and prob keep playing again, then])

I hope I can give the other users - who have the same problem as I had - a solution or at least an idea with this thread / solution :D

Okay, just forget my last post...

Problem re-appeared after the update, so it's got to do something with it...

Any new ideas? :superpusso:

Tried to do the same way you solved before? By redownloading game, updating etc? Also tried everything suggested from before?

I'm slowly giving it up ¬_¬
I finally bought a new computer (or at least some new parts for my old one), redownloaded the game on it and did everything suggested from before, yes. Still doesn't work.

My (new) PC:

CPU : Intel Core i3-530 "Clarkdale" @2x2933MHz
GPU : Gigabyte 460 GTX OC 1GB GDDR5
MB : Gigabyte P55-USB3
RAM : GeIL 4GB 1333 DDR3 DIMM
OS : Windows XP Pro

Hope I didn't forget anything :D

I had to reformat my pc and reinstall game to get it to download correctly.
Hopefully NGD will extend the event for everyone since all of the problems.
Still haven't had a chance to load in and play yet.

Then i goto the graphic settingd and lowered all to low mode.

I got it to work again (for now) it seems...

I set the game to "Update all resources at once" and waited till every single resource was finished loading again... it worked afterwards... I wonder how long it's gonna work now :¬¬:

Dunno why it worked this time, but you should try this, too.

good luck
