After todays balance update it is really difficult playing with alot of players on screen. My vm jumps super high and fps drops compared to last version. Does anyone else experience this problem? The game ran super smoothly before todays update for me.

Also, after relogging i lose my power points and have to reskill over lol. Dunno if i just had some wierd glitch bug or if it happens to others?

Edit* It doesn't happen anymore, must have been fluke. Still very high vm and lower fps though

After todays update sept 23/10 people are no longer pink on my screen anymore however there are tons of issues in game which did not exist before this update.

-people constantly teleport
-people are not where i see them in game, pos lag is much more for me
-when i cast animations they don't show sometimes and then later all show at once after i buff again. For example i use ao1, sw, db and see no animation, 3 minutes later randomly they all show up without me casting them.
-people look like they run in one spot alot

I lost my power points, too. I don't know why, because I skilled my hunter, switched to my conjurer and skilled him, again back to the hunter and all skills are reseted!

I realized that I have the first skills (at stage 1) at the first login after the update.

PS: Now I try to reset (/reset_powers) my skills before reskill. :wiggle14:

I seems that the reset at the first login after the update doesn't work properly!

In the beginning I had Top Performance but i logged in about 6 hours later & i have lost all my performance everything is laggy

things feel sluggish to me. lag befoe cast. Normal attacks seem ok but casting it is almost like you haven't selected anyone.

At least it works for you... I've got the same problem which I had before the update - my downloading gets stuck in the middle of the download and I always get the message "Connection error, please try entering the game again" or something like that. Significant performance decrease here - mini-freezes when new objects come in view range. Did not have that problem before 1.6.3.

At first I had also less framerate (shader 4, OpenGL). But I think deleting the game.cfg file and reconfigering helped a bit, but I'm not sure maybe the framerate is still worse than before the update.

Edit: deletion of the game.cfg and reconfiguring didn't help. Framerate is much lower and cpu usage higher especially in crowded fort wars.

Same happens with the frikin friends list, freezes me whenever someone connects or disconnects.

Significant increase of crashes. Screen starts to flicker and I have to kill regnum. It won't let me send an error report, though.

It seems a hd 5770 isn't good enough for regnum. :razz:

Linux client leaks memory. Today i started with around 850MB VM size and ended with 1.35GB VM size. I needed to restart client because framerate dropped from usual 60 to 10 - 20. There are times FPS even drop to 1 for some reason.

My VM size (on linux) has not been above 600MB.… I've also had fairly stable FPS but I haven't been in a fight larger than about 30 or so participants.

Regnum performance is worst after every update... random lags (connection is ok) only 40FPS inside empty samal on safe mode with nvidia GTX260 AMP2
(its qite funny how this "hig grafic, super detail game" [unreal tournament 99 has ~same grafic] can make garbage from my eavilmachine)

I was about to report the same thing. 32 bit linux client seems to be leaking.

I didnt see this thread earlier so I created new one by mistake.

Before to post here, I made a lot of tests.

I tried to uninstall/reinstall the game and updated it.
I tried to format my hard disk and reinstall game, defragmentation indeed.
I updated all my drivers and especially my drivers of my graphic card.
I tried to restart my ADSL router many time and updates firmwares too.
I tested other MMORPG and Online Game to see If I encounter the same problem and apparently not.
I launched some ping test and all results are good.
No firewall block the game application.

No network shared at home, no other computer has internet access. No download, no other network application used while I'm playing.

The problem is I have insane lagg since around 1 week. I don't know if there was something on Horus server since this period but the game is really unplayable for me. I never had this problem before, I already contact just to be sure nothing was wrong with my network => No failure at all.

It started since 7-10 days during the afternoon it was like impossible to play and I noticed it was better very late when less people are online.

Since the last update, it's all the time no matter when I try to log on game.

I didn't try yet to test on Râ and Amun server but I'll try and let you know.

All I know is since the last update it's worst than before.

I'm playing from Paris (France) for information, I don't know if other french players got this problem too.

Screenis speak for itself ... See the Alt+P Window with ugly packet loss without moving and acting with my char in game so I let you guess when I try to walk/cast etc .... :(

As you can see, my Inet ping seems to stay in the green but the other indicators are scary o_O

Any advice and help are welcome if you already encountered this type of problem with RO.

Very frustrating because I don't use a very very old computer. I use Shader 4.0 on game settings, i'll try with other shader to see if it's better but I'm very sceptic. Game was really hard to play since 7~10 days and since the last update it's a true nightmare, I gave up to do any action in game. PvP/PvE = Dead way.

2 weeks earlier, I used to have bewteen 60-90ms Inet ping when connected in game sincet he last week and especially the last update, around 300ms. Server ping, avg and packet loss fluctuate all the time.

Yesterday night near agg fort when all realms char were around, my ping server raised up over 28000ms and ugly avg and packet loss indicators ... I was surprised to be able to stay connected to the game x)

If anyone encountered this problem too and have found a way to fix it, you are more than welcome :)

I have realy low fps around (1-20) and in wars 1-20. and most of the time 1-10% packetloss.

It's very common for me to see 1.2GB of memory used by Regnum in windows. I think the more memory you have the more Regnum will take up, that's what I noticed in windows anyway.

I am having extreme performance issue since this update as well.
First of all my system specs:

ArchLinux 64 Bit
AMD II X3 435 @2,9 Ghz
Nvidia GTS 250 (256.53)
4 GB Ram

Settings:
I tried everything from Shader 2.0 with everything on low to Shader 4.0 with everything maxed.
I stick to Shader 3 with medium settings in windowed mode 1024x768.
It's the best compromise between look and performance so far. Shader 4 with maxed settings will regularly crash the game. No components are overheating.

But now problem description:
At central save I have like 40-50FPS depending on the players. While moving between CS and PP it's rather 30-40 in a smaller group. In Ignis desert it climbs to more than 100 FPS.
Now the problem: In wars my FPS drop down to less than 15 FPS which makes the game rather hard to enjoy.
Even with fixed pipeline I don't get more than 15 Frames per second in such situations. In most cases it's around 10 FPS in big wars while my mates on windows machines report a LOT more FPS.
Additionally there are phases where my FPS will fall down to 5-7 without any reason, even if I am all alone and not moving. After like 20 seconds it's gone. A fellow friend also told me he has that problem.
It would be really nice if performance (especially on Linux) could be tweaked.

I tested to go on Nemon knowing it's still under populated server to be sure the problem isn't coming on my side.

After some tests, when there were 50 connected players, I had around 200ms Ping server. and Packet loss between 1% to 9% max. 3 hours after, 10 connected, no packet loss at all, ping server back to normal around 70ms.

Desactivation of download all sources at once and modification of shader version dont change anything.

I already test to use lower resolution and details but it's still very laggy :-X

No alternative, no possibility to play in these conditions :(

I have performance issues since the update too.

For an unknown reason, my FPS drops to 10-15 sometimes and for several minutes, while before update I had always over 40 FPS in war (except invasions).

And also, disabling weapon trails doesn't disable arrow trails (it does for warriors only).

About network lag, it seems I don't have any, but I still see people sliding/surfing/running but not moving esp from long range, warriors doing telekinetic kicks from 10m, people casting 25m range spells from 30m+, and sometimes when I knock someone from close range, I can't attack him while he's knocked...

just now I had very low fps between samal and green limit to samal. A lot of other players had this problem too (I had minimum 5 fps others even only 2, before the update I had ussually even at huge Ra invasion usually 15+ fps).

I checked the error.log for any clues:

This error happened several times from 19:36:35 to 19:59:35.

Since the update I have also following error sometimes in the error log:
[renderizer_gl__textures.cpp(400)] Error uploading texture : invalid value
[Texture Manager][texture_manager.cpp(187)] Error uploading texture, resource ID: 71161

system: Fedora 13 64bit, Radeon HD 4650 (catalyst 10.8), 2 GB RAM, Phenom II X2

I mostly play on Linux, currently on Mandriva with Catalyst 10.4. (ATI HD 3850 agp) using Shader 2.0. In some areas, mainly near pn2 bridge and near Imperia save I get massive graphics lag. 2 FPS. It usualy helps when I go to options and turn on/off "Terrain detail". Oh, and I use shader 2.0 because anything higher crashes during large battles (like fort wars). I guess it has something to do with weapon/magic effects. Also, I tested several Linux distros and catalyst versions up to 10.8 - crashes with all versions.

Windows client doesn't crash with Shader 4.0 (DirectX), but in massive battles the sound engine crashes resulting in no sound and a drop in FPS (still playable, but annoying). My Windows drivers are regularly kept up to date.

Another issue I noticed is with spells. When I target someone and start casting a spell which takes for example 3 seconds (like Projectile rain), if my target goes to cover and spell casting therefore gets canceled, sometimes I'm unable to cast other spells on other people using my keyboard shortcuts (1-0). Even clicking with mouse sometimes doesn't help. The only thing that helps is putting my weapon away and pulling it out again. This can be very annoying if you find yourself in a tight spot with nowhere to run.
