Cant get in game

it seems like after every update, i cant ever get in the game

what happens is i log in, and select enter game world and then when i try to get in the game from the char screen, it goes to the load screen where it loads half way and stops. its really annoying. any tips on how to get in game?

in the corner it says its still downloading but the load screen never does anything.

any help?

So whats happening now, is after I select the server I want (horus) and I hit enter, it takes me to a black screen and my mouse arrow turns into the RO arrow like normal, but the black never goes away. I get the downloading thing in the upper left hand corner. Then it just stays black, and at the bottom of my screen it says
[err][ui_elements][loading]
it stays this way until I CTR+ALT+DEL completely out of the game :(

same problem.. different server.
log in to niflheim. --> I see those tipps , client is downloading with 200 kb/s
i never reach char selection.

btw i never had this problem on amun.

in found an error_log.txt in the regnum folder telling me this several hundret times:
[21/09/2010 19:44:20] [SDB File][sdb_file.cpp(781)] ..\data1.sdb: Read_pair error: PAIR_READ_INVALID

and found this in log.txt
[22/09/2010 09:27:08] [SDB_File][sdb_file.cpp(1230)] SDB: ..\data1.sdb(-2047.67 MB), fragmentation: -0.98%

ehm xd , it consumes negative amount of disk space and fragmentation is negative ? wow ^^
maybe solution is deleting data1.sdb ?

funny thing is i managed to go on live server rigth after update, then niflheim was restartet again.
After then fail...

edit1: managed to get to char selection , i removed "load all ressources" in options.
edit2: now i'm in game.. client is downloading nearly every textur.. all stones black, all mobs white since 5 minutes...

Depending on your connectoin speed it can take a really long time for it to download and go to character screen. If the bar barely moves but moves eventually abit with the download symbol it means it's still downloading. If there is no downloading icon and the bar doesn't move at all, then I'm not sure.

I had this problem last update where the bar stopped halfway, and I waited around 20 mins and it actually finished then. This was with graphics update.

Barely different problem here, getting in the game is not the problem, but changing chars is. Everytime I try to change chars, after 1/8 of loading screen after seleting the new char, my game crashes due an unexpected error.

I'm "solving the problem" by leaving game and new logging in if I want to change chars. But in my opinion that can't be thw way to do so.

Try this:
-untick load all resources at once
-remove all .sdb files in your game directory

now after it worked some days, i got now the same problem...
I'm only thinking wtf...
didn't change anything and can't get in game... again -.-
