I'm giving Raven a try on and off, but I'm not playing seriously on either server at the moment. But I live in the USA, so of course i'd like to play with folks closer to my own time zones. Although I won't be staying up late enough to tangle with the west-coasters probably.

Anyway, in both cases, I'm taking a "wait and see" approach. I'd like to see what is done in terms of various curves/rates/balance issues, etc. I'd like to see just how much power the gamesamba team have over their server, and see what they can turn it into, and what they can do to address concerns. But, I'm also waiting to see what happens on Horus with the new forts and everything....and (praying) NGD adjusts balance and bug issues.

I know they keep implementing new content, but they have said in the past their art/content department is a different group than their coding/bug fixing/general development department. And any coder knows it is easier and takes less time to write new code/content than it is to analyze old code and try to hunt down what might be causes of various problems.

So, I sit back and wait patiently until the balance/bug fixing teams catch up with the content/art teams, and hope for the best.


I will say this though: Raven and its GMs being present and very responsive in-game is a VERY positive thing.

I think they gave up on horus and could care less what happens to it.

If you have 1 guy doing customer support for a game that gets 50 support tickets each day versus 10 guys doing customer support for a game that gets 10 support tickets each day, then you're goddamn obviously going to see a difference. :facepalm3:

Can you read? I was making the point that the only reason they care about you so well is because they don't have the same number of customers as NGD. It's not rocket science. Wait till the server has as many players as Ra and Horus and then we'll see how fast it works. (Though, it already will work faster because they have more people doing support.)

Okay, the customer support is almost non-existant in Horus, the realm balance is messed up but it doesn't mean it won't get better.
Okay, the customer support is excellent in Raven, it doesn't mean it won't get worse by the time being and when it will be more populated. It doesn't mean Raven won't get all the shit Horus has atm (timezone imba etc...)

I still have hope in Horus, there's still good wars and fun 3-ways in prime times, it's not like it was already dead and with unrecoverable issues like the drama queens are pretending.

Anyways, have fun grinding to 60 again.

Don't take this the wrong way, but at least here in the US, if you work in customer support, processing 50 support requests a day is considered a relatively light workload. That's because such a person would be dedicated entirely to customer support, for about eight hours a day, with each one only taking about five minutes once the technique has been refined. In other words, keeping in mind a half-hour lunch break, the person would be able to process 90 support tickets before clocking out, and that would just be a single person. Some customers take longer, but its rare, as most issues tend to be relatively minor and solved within minutes with the proper tools and information available, which is what I believe NGD actually lacks.

One of the issues is that they do support entirely online, via tickets (and perviously emails), instead of using a phone service. This is notoriously slow, the person has a hard time even explaining their problem because they can't interact with the technician in real-time. In fact, many replies may have to be sent before what the problem even is becomes clear enough to begin working on a solution. Calling a foreign country might not be ideal, but still. I guess we should at least be glad NGD hasn't outsourced their customer support to a middle-eastern country yet. ;)

I moved to raven simply for the customer support aspect. It doesn't mean I won't be back on horus but that is only if things change significantly on horus. The last month or two I've not enjoyed the game-play there and I simply play the game for mindless entertainment. So, I may as well do it on a server that when I say

"Hey the pendent holder is stuck"

Poof...GM appears and fixes it.

Why? Thats not for solely me to say. You can play wherever you want. I'm just giving you my opinion that any positive experience on Raven will be momentary and will in no way whatsoever differ from Horus in the long run. Do you need a GM to hold your hand when you go to war too?

Look I'll say it again. You have GM's playing with you, thats great. But you don't seem to realize that you're only seeing what you see now on Raven because:
1.) They are just doing first impressions to rile up you.
and 2.) Raven still has a substantially low population. Meaning, when it grows to the size of Horus you're going to start to see changes, and so all the goodies and sweets you have now will slowly deteriorate over time into your average Regnum experience. You can't compare Raven on launch to Horus which has already been around for awhile. It's still fresh out of the box, of course it's going to look nice, that doesn't mean in a few months it'll end up like every other server.

Do you really think Raven isn't going to have timezone imbalance? You're going to have the same thing with East Coast and West Coast players.

I do think that ngd needs to take notice of the perceived mass migration to raven, and employ some of the things that are attracting people to it to better horus.

currently I play on Raven. My recently still active Alsius knight is only lvl 45 on Horus and I can't buy Premium items on it (because of empty country entry in account, I cant create Forum/support system account or buy Ximerin). It's not a big deal to grind one on Raven to lvl 45. IMHO leveling up a low level char on a young active server with friendly community and GM's is not less fun than RvR on Horus.
On Raven I can also buy premium items. And there is hope that the population and timezone balance will be much better on Raven than it is currently on Horus.

Btw. another reason to play on Raven for Euro currency users: Premium items cost about 30% less ;)

I didn't play for several months at all. I've logged to Nemon in evenings randomly and it was so boring. I want to help underpopulated Alsius on Horus so I grind my new knight there(sorry, but there is no my old knight anymore).

I don't want to go to Raven. I don't think it is worth to grind once again.

EDIT: P.S. horus gameplay was broken by players, not NGD. And game is in game world, not in support system.

Ive created a char on raven although I dont plan to leave horus I must say that that server is run much better. As others have mentioned many GMs are always on 24 hours and the have promotions and events running quite often. It does kind of make me wonder why NGD doesnt bother to do the same on horus.

As I said I wont switch but do wish NGD would take note of what theyre doing on raven and at least act like they give a damn about horus.

Dunno if I'm allowed to talk about this here, but raven offers free XP boosts, and runs promotions to get free mounts and stuff. Because of this, I've made a level 36 character there in 3 days. And that is with the overhead of the event, etc (hardcore people could do it in two days). Grinding five characters up to 40 (I assume you actually meant 50-60?) would be almost nothing especially if you could throw few Xims at it. Not that I would recommend for anyone to move, the war on all servers is dead because of the saves. Even on RA, when I logged in the other day, war was pretty pathetic compared to the past. Sure, you still have the large wars, but they take FOREVER to happen because of how long it takes people to get from point A to point B with broken saves, nerfed teleports and premium-only mounts.

If we're going to take as long to reach battles as in 2007, then we need to have as high quality of battles of 2007 as well (un-nerf Conjuror).

most are only around 40, but i did all that before the level cap increase. i've been gone for about 8 months, haven't grinded (ground?) any thing since then. i like where my characters are now and i don't intend on starting over.

horus is the only server i play on, so i can't speak for other servers, but horus wars (in the last few days) have been nothing short of pathetic. when it takes an hour to kick 3 people out of a fort because no one else is on or wants to help, it seems like the game has finally died. i haven't seen more than 3 people in my friends list (of 40+ players) on at one time.

i feel the same way. played there for like 2 weeks and am not impressed with the players. also the player base is very small even compared to horus. you kinda have to go to the save area to find kills. it was not fun at all. but ur welcome to give raven a try but ive been there and im telling u it's no better than horus.

Although i do wuv and miss alot of the guys that have made the move permanently to Raven, i have them on facebook so can annoy then there lol, i found i couldn't leave the rest of the people back playing on Horus... missed that community way too much , plus all the time and effort put into Horus..can't just let that go for the sake of a name change in the game..

Maybe if i get banned on Horus for being a douche i will go Raven :angel1:
