View Full Version : Client crashes after clicking "Play"

Just downloaded the game and tried running it to no avail. Client crashes right after I click "Play...". Same in safe mode, OpenGL or experimental server. Below is the log, everything seems fine, but it just crashes to dekstop with no error message. System is Windows 2000 Pro SP4. EDIT: I also tried deleting the LiveServer folder but it didn't help.

Strange... As far as I can see it's reading the sdb files twice. Did you try deleting the sdb files? I'm not sure it will work, but maybe it could.

The SDB files have 600mb so they're the core of the game aren't they? Well, sure, I tried and the game won't start. I also tried re-installing the whole thing and it's the same story again.

okay I'm awesome and found the problem. Disabling sound fixes the crash and the game starts normally. But playing without sounds is rather uncomfortable.

So how do I fix it? I have SB Live! and no problems with sounds anywhere else.

Regnum uses OpenAL for sound (www.openal.org). Perhaps you have a different version from the one that Regnum installs?

Unlikely since I've never heard of it before, and the one installed on my system, bears today's installation date.
