Guessing this will be 'most anticipated' with petrol heads when news spreads. Plenty of footage on youtube, search for a recent build though (some good clips of build 108). I've not seen a clip that shows off both graphics and physics well though, both are very impressive.

The development model is... omfg.

Quote from this (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-11-24-project-cars-preview) beta review:
It's all quite simple; sign up to WMD, the somewhat unfortunate acronym chosen for Slightly Mad's World of Mass Development platform, and you're granted access to regularly released builds of the game, which you're then free to pick apart in the official forums. That feedback then gets absorbed by Slightly Mad Studios, a simple loop that means that, when the game is eventually released, it'll be as much a product of the community as it is of the studio.

There is a price (http://forum.wmdportal.com/toolpacks.php) for the privilege, think you have to register on their forum to view it though:

Really hope this development model works out, getting sick of the beautiful but braindead crap racing games have become. Getting paid to develop exactly the game users want could be a revolution in the games industry

Not signed up to it yet, came across live for speed which just worked (tm) with wine. Will have a look at it soon, looks incredible.

Is it working online? Only saw single player videos on youtube, also, is it developing quickly?

Will look out for you when I sign up, name will probably be stan.distortion :)

Multiplayer isn't up yet, but at least there's leaderboards at least for now :)

Progress is steady. Car and tracks are getting tweaked every week (with progress reports by the devs on the forum, which is great fun)
They're currently doing a major rewrite in the core engine to get input lag to an absolute minimum (threading issues), which should be great. After that's done the refining of global physics and FFB will start again.

For a pre-alpha game it's astonishing how much actually works. And the interaction with devs (and Ben Collins, occasionally :)) is great

If you're planning to run it on wine, you might be slightly disappointed, though. Optimisations will take place in a far later stage of the process. It's stressing my machine pretty hard and i'm on windows. Then again, I haven't heard of anyone trying to run it on wine, so it might be allright :angel1:

Thanks for the info :)

Guessing that too, its worth the 25 quid to me just to push this development model and push for cross platform support so wont be too dissapointed if wine is a total fail. Can try it out on a friends win pc anytime too.

In your mirrors sometime soon, have a good one ;)

Nice one :) Looks stunning and the physics seem to be almost there. Hope they put plenty of the GPL tracks in, Rouen, Spa-Francorchamps and Zandvoort where great, don't need no pansy run off areas :)
