This bug has been introduced in january or february 2011 and is still not fixed.
Since I hate repeating myself:

I thought the new networking code would fix it once and for all, but I was dreaming again...

For some reason the FPS window didn't get captured, but I had around 5 FPS here while I normally should have 50-60.
This is a critical issue since not only it gives wrong positioning, "invisible" characters hitting you, etc.. (read the first topic), but also a huge FPS drop that even supracalculators and latest graphical cards can't cope.
This is just totally ruining the gameplay.
When the hell will you care of this very poisoning issue?

You have to do 2 screenshots. 1st will be without, 2nd will be with.
Same problem to screenshot item stats window. This issue needs a fix too.

Still is a problem. Happened today with my Savage Troll, he got stuck in birka, although I didn't have him selected to show he was still there here are screenshots showing my fps drop.

Kept running hoping he would despawn; he didn't, so I dismissed him. My fps went right back up.

Strangely enough i have FPS drops only when nobody in group is stucked or at forts.....

Im getting alot of fps drop, at wars i play with only 11 fps, while normally is 24-34(still it isnt that good, but c'mon, 11 fps? i play good with 30 fps but not a damn slideshow..)

Just to make it clear - This issue is about temporary and sudden but huge FPS drops (usually down to 2-4 FPS) caused by virtually out-of-range stuck characters. If your FPS is always low it's not this issue.
Anyways another example today, and I feel like regularly posting pics until this very annoying issue is fixed.

In a normal case I should have above 120 FPS (yeah I bought a new GPU - GTX 550).
As you can read in the chat, I wasn't the only one having it.
I might add that nowadays FPS drops often happen after WM teleports, because some people get visually stuck in the arrival place and/or below the ground...

Among cliffs and walls, bridges are also very suitable for stucking characters :

And new "feature" from the new network code is that characters can get visually stuck in air aswell :

Here the FPS drop isn't that important since I'm not far from the stuck character (who was really fighting at door).
In both cases I should have had over 90 FPS.

Don't expect that bringing back falling damage will "fix" the problem. FPS drops after teleports and on bridges still happen.

Even if it's too tempting to think that all Ignis and Alsius are cheaters, there might be a link with this bug maybe ?

I doubt Doom Slayer is a cheater, but this bug of stuck player every where around the map is beginning to get up my nose very seriously.
Next time I'll send tickets for cheaters, maybe NGD will start to get moving their ass.

I could confirm this, once from a goat lock at alga and if i remember correctly from some iggies at samal. I got nothing to prove though. but I dont think they are cheaters....

This has become a running joke, in every fort fight I've been this week(probably 4 or 5) there's always someone getting stuck in some way or another. The game turns into a freaking slideshow, once the person is killed or goes out of range everything goes back to normal.
May I also point out that these people who are stuck are able to wipe out entire armies because no one can see them at their correct locations? :facepalm:

Almost 2 years after this bug has been introduced (Feb 2011), it's still here, and still a total gameplay-killer. It's really unacceptable that such a critical bug is still around and crippling everyone after teleports and bridges, not even mentioning again the issues of invisible enemies because of it...

I confirm this bug and it has been well known for years. Is NGD not capable of fixing this bug? It is by far the worst in the game. Someone goes underground or gets stuck somewhere and everyones fps drops by 95%. This happens, after teles, running randomly, in fort fights, anywhere.
Fix your critical bugs, bugs that are evident, reported over and over and that still persist after years make your game look very bad and your programmers incompetent. Love you ngd, but some things really need your attention more than others :p

While I know nothing about the coding of Regnum surely it could be made so our characters spawn 1-2 metres above the ground to avoid this bug entirely.

That's more like an ugly workaround than a proper fix that won't solve entirely the issue since a lot of stuck situations happen spontaneously.
One just needs to hit the edge of a bridge, a rock, a tree, or jump from a fort wall to appear stuck on others' clients... So I believe this workaround would only work for those appearing underground after teleports.

It happens far too often on bridges and in forts anyway, and this kind of ugly workaround would probably do more harm than good - I expect to see people taking massive amounts of fall damage from teles (Syrtis offensive tele that takes us to goatland already gives us 500-1k hp fall damage sometimes).
