Hey all

Ofcourse.. Ive been playing this weekend non-stop again (addict :D)
Its surprising how many green archers clap...

Me and my friends couldnt figure it out, we got stuck at two possibilities, and one seems strange...

So opinions plz: Why do they(you) clap?


I usually just clap back when they are dead..
I dont use clap a lot, I like the kiss emoticon better ;)

I clap when I'm zerged. Low profile and clap, means that: "Bravo, you can get me zerging only"

The strangest part is when someone claps back when they kill me :S
That's what I can't understand really :)

It is rare for me to use clap, when i use it is when enemie in 1vs1 (x vs x) runs
away instead off having a nice fight. Imo in a 1vs1 you never know whats gonna
happen, sure some classes have harder against other classes but its never
impossible to win.

Usually when gank group surronds me i try to make it as hard for them as
possible to kill me so i tell myself they clap after due to that i put up a deacent
fight instead off just trying to run (impossible to run anyway as a knight). Or
they are just trolling me, i really dont know.

I wondered that too. A friend of mine told me, that when some one claps after you loose means it was a nice fight.
It may be true, although I usually do reverence/kneel.

When some one claps before he dies, yeah like one said..."Wow, you are VERY good at ganking".

I usually clap to ppl who gank me while i grind again and again and again. Sure kill me get your count up for the quest, but leave me to grind. I will come no matter how many times you do this. It is just annoying for me and boring for you.

I clap or bow if someone fights good no matter me or he loose. :thumb:

It absolutely hilarious when gankers that cant fight for shit, clap after they hotw gank you.
I think its mostly to taunt, but im sometimes unsure if some actually mean it as positive feedback. I doubt that.

Either way i find it funny more than annoying, so please keep it up.

I never clap, I do occasionally greet people that clap instead of fighting back with a teabag. It is kind of childish, but they most likely are already provoked, since they clapped. So I assume at least some will get really worked up by it. :biggrin:

Then you also have they once logging on to their realm alts, to “discuss” things.
Haha, nothing in game gives more enjoyment than that.

Yep, this topic is here again.

There are two types of people that use this emoticon.
1) Clapping means that the person liked the fight (kind of reverence)
2) The person is genuinely amused by your noobnes (kinda "clap, clap, I liked this circus")

It is difficult to distinguish between those two types, but when I clap, it's usualy because of zerg, noobs that treehug or kick5 feint5 knights that think they're pro.

Clapping = Dude you suck, you'll kill because of your numbers or because of the imbalanced spell you used.
Reverence = Nice fight, you're a good player I like fighting against you xD.

This is actually what I use clapping and Reverence for, nothing else.

was lmao situation. i was on grinding on my barb at swamp. some gelfs knight come to swamp too! Reverence to mee and after I turned my back on him and continued to grind. 1 minute and I got a knife in the back :) lol kick + faint + kick + faint... Pro ;)

Some ppl do not gank even we grind together or they move on. Such was VV, Dormanant(hope it is correct) and some more i forgot names of. Sorry for that. Bows for you. :)

There are players which killed me let's say 10 times before they got bored maybe. I'm not a bot - just fighting on low mana and hp or on booster is unneeded. Get your kill and move on please. I will not call for help eater if you want a fight.

I clap/bow/kneel when a fight was good, usually the one I find first :p But clapping a fight during a fight... that's silly, once a green hunter came to gank me on Ice Sun on imp beach, ofcourse I ran to a crystal (there is a crystal on imp beach that works even better than a tree o_O) to hug it, he came too close so I could hit him a couple of times, then ran about 15 meter away (I stayed at crystal, trying to outrun a hunter with a knight is stupid) and then he clapped, so I went for it and got him xD if he didn't do that he would have lived :p

People tend to use clap as an expression of contempt.
Every action I perform is derisive in some way, emotes are the only expression of sincerity I use :sleep_1:

For me clapping over dead enemy means :
a) stupid death man
b) good try, but you failed again
c) You almost got me, almost (usually t-bag then)
d) Never again cast Confuse 5 after leaving camo

Bow over grave is for me show respect to enemy, like good fight soldier.

Lets all salute Pea - Ignis warlock. After she killed me 3+ times(i just finished my mob and stood still) i came back and she was hugging a rock because of a goat hutner. After dying again, because they both jumped me she came back again at my grinding place. We rested both and i even bow'ed to her. When she regen to full she standed up and killed me.

This made me think of that thread Valorius made when people kept t-bagging him lol, he called it homosexual necrophilia or something. :) I agree t-bagging is better. :p

I almost never clap. Don't even remember when i did it the last time and why.

There are only three social actions i use:

1) Bow - which means: i liked the fight. You did a good job. I won, but it could be the other way around. Respect.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. That's life. Nothing to be proud of. Nothing to be ashamed of.

2) Wave - which means: hey, i have good intentions. Don't stop grinding. No need to call your buddies. I will do you no harm.

3) Kisses - ... the same as wave, no sarkasm, really (the difference is: i send kisses when i'm camo and can't wave), with one exception: there is one special hunter, who always gets kisses from me as a sign of contempt. He/she should know why :-)
