I'm running RO on a Linux distro called Zorin 5 Ultimate, an Ubuntu-based distro. Amd64 X2 5000 BE, 8G RAM, with a big honkin vid card. Haven't had any probs until this afternoon, i start it up, i click accept, it asks for name and pw, then i get the "choose a server" screen, but it begins doing an auto-update, then crashes. The update looks to be approx 3400KB. I don't know what happened, but could you guys get it fixed? I'm working on my first archer ever, lol.

Also happen for me (linux ubuntu 12.04 64 bits)
Tried to reinstall, no change.
Looks like the rolauncher is updating something of 3.5M, ends the download and disappears.
in regnum/SelfUpdate, rolauncher seems fresh.

hello,
today evening I couldn't enter game world after logging in. I got some updates then rolauncher exited with exit code 0.
Restarting computer didn't help, reinstalling regnum didn't help.
I also tried to setup my graphical settings after reinstall in game.cfg by hand, but it didn't help.
Starting "game" directly instead of "rolauncher" didn't work, it exited immediately with exit code 1.
Tried logging in with other account too, didn't work.
After a few more tries I could log in again.

I'm also having the same problem. A complete reinstall did get me into the game, but I quit after downloading all resources to change my resolution. Now I have the same problem again. It downloads the update and then quits without any error messages. It does this every time I log in.

I was having the same issue today, here is how I fixed it. The download was a new launcher but for some reason A. it did not put the launcher in the right place and B. the new launcher simply does not work.
Look in your regnum folder and there should be a new folder that wasn't there before. If you do not know what was there before just open them 1 at a time until you find a folder with just the "rolauncher" in it, and copy that.
Go back to the main regnum folder and rename the old launcher "rolauncharbak", then paste the "new" laucher. Then launch the "rolauncherbak" and it checks that the "New" launcher is there and everything proceeds as normal.

Arch Linux 64bit

4gb ram

Using the experimental option i can logon only once, after that if i close the client and try logging on again it just doesn't pass the logon screen.
The first logon i played about 2 hours and noticed nothing different, spanish forum people are reporting increase of FPS, i got no increase in fps but at least the game didn't crash in the 2 hours of play time.
I still don't understand how ingame i start with 100 fps and by walking 10 meters my fps goes down to 35 then its always moving around 25 and down to 5 fps in a fort. (this with lowest settings possible).

Running xubuntu 12.04 LTS with none of these issues.
However in the past I did have something similar.
Backup your HOME files and reinstall ubuntu. Try xubuntu once, faster.
Install "Restricted extras".
Download game again and start a fresh install.
Run as Fixed pipeline (minimal graphics ALL in advanced options), check "Update all resources at once", disable sound and choose OpenGL.
Good luck!
