Quiting the game eventually

Hello, RO community,

To those who knows me (Hephaestus II), I'm officially quitting the game as my account was hacked and password and email were both changed by an unknown party yesterday on June 17th and therefore I no longer have access to my characters anymore. While trying my best to get the account back through the proper channel (support website), I think it's a good time for me to quit the game once and for all. I feel sad that after all the time and money I put into this game, I would end up with a skeleton lvl 60 character at the end. But I'm also very calm as it might be a sign from god that this is the time to quit the damn thing hehe. Anyway, I'm writing this thread to let you know that from this moment on, Hephaestus II from Ignis is no longer the actual person and if you happens to see him in the future, it will be the guy that hacked me.

Maybe in the distant future, I will start a new char from stratch in another realm but I don't really see the point of doing that since there is always an possibility of being hacked at some point and you would lose everything. For me, at least I made some contributions in the development of "warlock art of combat" before all of this went down. I sincerely hope all the videos I've made so far regarding warlocks have helped others along the way. If so, my mission in playing RO is accomplished and I would have no regrats or sorrow:) You see I believe everyone was born to have a purpose in this world and I think I have served my purpose in RO. In the end of this post, I just want everybody to know I've shared lots of enjoyable and memorable moments with lots of players in game. The gameplay experience is unforgettable. Thank you all.

I'm really sorry to hear that this has happened to you. I really do hope you do manage to get your account back somehow and come back to the game (I suppose, you did submit a ticket?). If there's any way I can help you, don't hesitate to ask.

You were a great inspiration and a awesome player. Some of your videos really taught me how to play this class. I'm sure many others valued your contributions too.

A similiar thing happened to one of your realmates (grytos), within 2 weeks he got all this equipment back, speak to the gms, gc, sgms everyone! Im sure within a reasonable amount of time they'll return your gear.

Don't let the person who took your stuff win, try at least getting your equips back then make a decision on whether to quit for not.

Not to point fingers or something, but I could only name one person who could hack RO account without e-mail or password, he did a similar thing to NGD on christmas, not sure though.

Heph listen to Ricksa, GameSamba is actually really awesome about getting players their stolen accounts/gear back, and they're completely understanding. You might have to go through GameSamba's support channel instead of NGD's (dunno if they're linked or not) but you can at least get your stuff back before quitting! xD

If you decide to not play anyway, your vids and Gestern's were the ones I looked to to help me learn how to play lock for the first time on Raven (and I'm still not that great at it :D), I wish you the best; thanks for all the help and great fights :p

Just saw hephs character in alsius oc, it wasn't heph playing. Was with a high lvl noob barb, didnt get the name though, died fast.
EDIT was on conj so no hits in log and only received 1 normal from hephs toon.

Forgot to post a thread here that I got the account back. :) it was me at oc with a clan mate :) I died quick cuz the barb southcrossed me 2.8k dmg...

I guess NGD is very fortunate to have me :P 4 years of my time and resources into 1 single class and I don't regret it because I love warlock :) Ppl can steal my gear. They can steal my char but they can never steal my knowledge and skill in playing warlock. It takes years to truly master a class and the hackers whoever they are will never be as good as me playing warlock because they don't have the experience. Items can only take u so far and noobs will always be noobs no matter how uber ur gear is.

No, not mad. I find most of your far too serious posts about RO amusing. Then I feel bad for laughing at someone with a serious problem.

I never argued that you aren't a good warlock; maybe in another few years and after spending a couple more thousand dollars you'll be the best. My point was that you have dedicated and devoted far too much to Regnum for what it is: a mediocre MMO almost nobody has heard of. In the end, all that you have achieved is to impress a few dozen people and develop a useless skill (while losing $2000 in the process).

It amazes me that you can be proud of wasting half of your teenage years on this. You're a very good example of what MMO addiction is.

I understand your point, Psynocide, but game addiction can have a negative impact on his life and those around him, just like other addictions. I have seen players just like him start to really regret how much time they spent on RO, when before they thought it was OK. If I remember correctly, one person told their story about it on forums a while ago.

All I was giving was my opinion. I don't want to dictate how he lives. I apologise that I came across as forcing my beliefs. However, I think that some people don't understand how out of hand gaming addictions can become.

Everyone needs ambitions and that's an achievable one for fun during spare time. Imho Heph has achieved best PvP lock on Horus, and if a lock hasn't learned anything after seeing Heph a few times then they're ether born to the game or not much good. Games can be addictive in a bad way but that's what the RO ragequits are for (its not a bug, its a feature :P )
