The famous driconf trick i also tried.

glxinfo:

Ideal solution for the hard of thinking. Intel chips and drivers have issues, there have been quite a few threads with similar problems, usually the problem has been with one or more graphics options and turning off those options made everything stable. Can't remember what options where causing most trouble, try disabling everything in advanced options and turning things on a few at a time untill you find the options that are preventing the game from starting and/or causing crashes. Please post back what you find as the graphics are going through an optimisation and stability revamp atm so its the ideal time for NGD to fix the problems your having.
