So, decided to make this thread for amateur artists who have beautiful voices or are really talented, whether it be rapping, guitar, etc. Just something to get us away from all the mainstream people.

I just ran upon this girl's youtube page, I think her voice is amazing so I thought I'd share for yall to hear as well.

It's moslty country, but check out the Kansas Thorp Band. I think they have a couple tracks on youtube that Robbie Youngland did for them. (he is or was running a basement recording operation for a long time, and has been involved involved in his own recording/music production venture since the analog reel-to-reel days)

Currently I'm working on the tracks I recorded from a recent live show. The girl has a very nice voice. Very dynamic, and a good bit of presence, and capable of some pretty good SPL. Just need to get her to hold her head still, hah!

(note: I don't really like the recordings up on youtube both due to youtube's compression, and a lot of high end of the audio spectrum)

The stuff they did at the gig was a combination of oldies (Patsy Cline, JohnnyBGood, Hillbilly Rock, etc.) and country/newer stuff: Adele, Carrie Underwood, and the like. "Rolling in the Deep" Turned out quite nice.

Unfortunately I'm going to either have to scrap a few tracks, or get them to re-track her singing and do an overdub if they really want to keep them. They were using a wireless mic on her during the performance, and it started flaking out a bit during the 2nd set. Lots of plosive editing too. :P

I had 24 recorded, but not all of them are keepers. I should have the finished tracks up on my soundcloud in a few weeks, plus the CD will be for sale at some point. If you're into that midwest/country kinda thing anyway. :)

Edit: sound quality's not great, but here's a youtube vid of the band from a previous event.
