Hello I just tried to log in, and it updated the launcher, now the launcher exits after you hit "Play" with the error that it requires glibc2.4, I have 2.3.6 installed, is this an oversight or do I have to update my system?

Yes I have the same problem. I am using Debian Linux and from my understanding Debian does not use glibc 2.4, nor does any of its derivatives.

This shall be interesting to see what they will do with this ;)

No, you don't need to upgrade. It was an error building the linux client, please wait for a patched version to be uploaded soon.

Sorry for the inconveniences.

Meh I couldn't go without, so I installed the new libc6 2.5; I too run debian, but I run testing, libc6 2.5 is in lenny

Well that was the other option, I did not want to force you to upgrade :)

I am not sure that is a wise thing to do if you still have etch as the base system?

Surak sorry wasn't meant as a surly response to you ;) I would have updated my system eventually anyway, I'm glad you read the forums and I'm amazed that you're able to respond as quick as you can and I appreciate all work you do (:

Lostsoul: I always run testing

Ah yes Froste (!) I did not see that in you previous post, though you clearly stated it. ;)

Anyways, Surak do you have an eta on when the new patched version will be uploaded?

I'll try to have it ready tomorrow.

Thank you!

I also would like to say (in similar fashion as Froste): Thank you Surak for the the time you have put into building the linux version of the game and also keeping us players informed.

Without your dedication us poor linux users wouldn't have such a fun MMO to play, well at least one that runs natively.

Thanks again.

Yes thank you for providing this for us, no other gaming company is willing to take a chance with us Linux users there are some bugs but I put this on the companies that provide the graphics drivers they give us crappy drivers so you and the rest of the game developers have to deal with it as well as us. So keep up the great work, each one of just has to figure out how to make it work on their on Distros/Systems. Damn ATI-Oh how I hate them.
