This country is great. Because some people take advantage of a suspiciously organized riot to STEAL LED TVs, not food, it doesn't mean our country sucks. It means that there's still people that do not honor work and want it the easy way.

They will not change, they will have to complete his life cycle until society grows step by step. It will take time. Cultural changes do not come overnight.

I love Argentina. It has problems as any other country and I'm happy to see that this is one of the times in which there's less hunger HISTORICALLY. Not that I defend the government, but I see that the country is not as bad as everyone talks about it.

Don't dare to talk about the country like that again. It's your home.

shit is going on in many countries. Some countries can just hide it better than others. At least Argentina doesn't take part in war crimes and is not enslaved by big banks (although Argentina has much debts) like many other countries.

Here in the UK and in many other countries in Europe there have been riots, so you can't say any one country sucks because of a riot.

The riots in the UK that happened last year were a country-wide organised 'event', with people using mobile phones to pass the word on.
Police in many cases were helpless, with their superiors ordering them not to intervene while people walked off with looted stuff. I beleive the thinking went along the lines of, "we'll catch up with them later by using CCTV cameras." Many arrests occured days, weeks and even months after the event. But there was an outcry at the time that police simply stood and watched. It was a total breakdown of the rule of law.

Not sure what the route cause of the riots in Argentina are, but here in Europe it's mainly because the bankers looted a lot of money in the financial boom and the poor are left footing the bill.

Argentina is just as enslaved by the banks as the rest of the world, there's only 3 countries left with financial independence, Iran, Afghanistan and Cuba. Libya and Syria where both self run but Rebels have founded Rothschild owned central banks in both of them.

I hard to know whats really going on, the US news says the dollar is ok but the euro is about to collapse, the european news says its the dollar on the edge and the euro is fine, both are being printed in huge quantities so they must be a strong market for them, right? (wrong, it takes money out of your pocket by reducing the value of that money and reduces government expenditure ie. a pension is still $100 but that $100 is only worth $80 now).

Hope Argentina keeps it together, hearing bad stories (from the same folks that said Saddam has WMD's) but they all refer to the value of one kind of piece of paper when exchanged for another kind of piece of paper, fine if you need to write down a number or if your arse is dirty but bloody useless when your hungry or for heating the house with. All I know is Argentina told the IMF to GTFO :thumb:

We can't blame a country for some people's acting. I think everyone has had that moment in which he/she said "This country is shit", but, deep inside, we all love our countries.

Argentina is going through hard times, and not only because of economic problems (as Adrian said, we've been worse) but for political reasons. A lot of people wants the President to quit, while they don't know who will take her place if she does. Argentina lacks a strong opposition, which, I think, is the worst thing a country can lack of.

We've got a LOT of people complaining about the President, and, when asked they say "I don't who will come, but she has to go!". And please, tell me:
If the president leaves and there's no strong opposition to take the power, while a LOT of vultures go around it, wouldn't it take to a BIG, REALLY BIG, disaster?

I do not support this goverment at all, but we have to admit a lot of things.

These kind of riots have already been seen here, and it ended up with a president quiting. I hope it doesn't happen again.

2001 situation was completely different. People start to rob because the banks doesn't want to give their money. It was for a need, need of food, and some other things :p

This riot was without reasson. They started on Bariloche and they expected a chain reaction, that spread in the whole nation. They were simply anarchists.

You can get euro's or dollars indirectly through linden dollars, bitcoin and other virtual currencies or payment systems (other than paypal who decided they don't want to deal with Argentina). If you want to save in euro's but don't have a euro account many euro pre paid debit cards come with SEPA details and so you can transfer funds onto them via one of the virtual transfer options, not sure if there are similar dollar options.

Imho, saving in dollars would be a very bad move and euro's not much better atm, land and precious metals maybe a safer option. A European preaching about stores of value to an Argentinian doesn't make much sense though, Argentina's monetary system has been unstable for a long time so there's more real world experience of safe banking around you than around the average European who has far to much faith in essentially worthless bits of paper.

At that time most of people were hungry and wanted a change of the goverment direction and they didn't want to take them as a fool from politics

Now, they are not hungry..... well if those people feed themself with silicon and circuits i could understand but i don't think so. The bariloche riot and the others were set by a buch of people and i really don't know why exactly.
