[CRITICAL] crash while creating new character

The game crashes while loading the "create new character" window. The bug appeared not only for me but for other players too. It seems it crashes both on linux, mac and windows. Please fix it.

I just tested this before I posted and I don't seem to crash at all so maybe certain condtions are needed for this to happen you may want to give more details.
