just trying to know what it's like. because i contacted my recruiter and he said it'll take a year to look at my background and qualifications before i start training, (this is a different sector of the government), but still trying to see how the combat is in the field.

If you're wondering what the combat is like, well, it's never fun to see people drop dead around you and you having to take another persons life.

Let's say it plain and simple: combat is horror!
It's in NO WAY compareble to anything you would have seen in films, games or anything like that.
The psychologic pressure is not discripeble in any way. Kill or be killed may have a "romantic touch" in games but the real thing is completely different!
Some people may be born for that kind of life but the main part of human civilisation breaks apart psychologicaly when thrown in such a situation.
Think about it very good if you really want to choose this kind of life for yourself!

If you ask this question - it is not yours.

Firstly, I would like to thank all of you guys for posting and giving me advice.
Secondly, I'm not in it for the thrill, romantic/film versions, or anything from a movie. I will however state that my inspiration(s) do come from movies and tv shows, although they are true reality, just displayed in a less "toxic" manner. My thoughts go way back until I was a little boy, and everything I do has a purpose which others cannot understand. And even you reading this can relate to that inevitable past. My choice has been made a while back for me and this thread was to help expand my role by acknowledging past members of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, etc. with former experiences.
Tl;Dr: Thank you to everyone and you guys have been a huge part of my childhood.

This thread reminds me to answer a post at the angler forum.
We had a nice discussion about testicular prosthesis there.

No, sorry. I think an angler forum is still the best place for something like this.
Will have a look to a forum of worldwar veterans now to talk about mmorpgs.
c ya.
