you sure this isn't just bad lag due to impropper video settings for the graphics chip? The 6100 is an IGP or intergrated graphics procesor, it's part of the motherboard and shares processing power and ram with the rest of the system, thus making it quite slow indeed, this hyper space jusmp you are refering to is probably you moving at normal speed to the server, but your hardware struggling to keep up.

I'm using an nvidia 6200 (AGP card with 256MB) and found I have to have the level of detail at medium to be able to play. I tried the autodetect button, it set everything up high and I found I couldn't control my turns, a tap on the key might lead to a 120 degree turn, but with the settings down at medium it's usable.

yep, that'd be the problem, their autodetect isn't all that fine tuned to the various card models, if you know your card you'll know what it can handle, the 6200 is a low end card, the bottom rung of the 6x00 generation from nvidia, if you're lucky tho you have an early model that actually has the 6600 core and just needs a softmod to open the 4 extra processing pipelines to make it a 6600, which will give you quite a nice speed boost on its own, ocing the core and ram a bit will add to your fun at the cost of more heat and you still have the bottleneckof the ram interface which is only 64bit on most all the 6200 series cards, but hey, if you're lucky you can get a nice increase in preformance from the card, you'll need it in war. I have the PCI edition of the 6200, NV44a core, can't be unlocked, and even OCed to it's limits I still need to ave graphics settings at absolte minimum to get decent preformance in a fort war, for standard lving I can handle medium settings for everything, even at the stock speeds, but once you fet more then like 4-5 players on screen at once everything takes a dive.

Does this happen using OpenGL and Direct3D?

surak we have tried the experimental server and it looks promising, although twinkle is still fast, she has slowed by about 50% which is an improvement
Downside is, she is now a lvl 19 rather than 39. Is there any way to fix this?

Boger (B O G E R) has that problem too, but whenever his char-selection screen is moving fast (it doesn't happen every time), if he hits "Play" his regnum crashes. Does it always move fast, or just sometimes?

it doesnt crash it just moves too fast every time the game loads and boger it was a pleasure been blatted by you in pinos today

btw. try DL'ing AMD k8 Proc drivers, and if u have dual core DL the Dual Core optimizer.

Just for shits, you could get a new hd (or if you have one available already) and install linux on that, and try playing it from linux, see if the same thing happens, or if it works fine.
Inkster

froste that isnt an option at the moment but HEY boger we reinstalled the drivers for a second time and it have reduced the speed somewhat it is still fast but not as fast as it was thanks again

How big is the HD? Any chance of instead of putting in a new drive to partition off a small section, say 5Gb tops for a linux install? Just grab ubuntu, it'll have the options in the installer. It'll just resize the windows install to let itself be installed on the unused space on the drive, if you let it do it automatically it may take too much space, but setting the tables manually shouldn't be an issue.
I just can't remember how much space Ubuntu with regnum(all the files) and gpu drivers takes up, it's not too much tho. The vast majority of ppl I've seen never fill an 80Gb drive, let alone a modern drive of 250Gb or more.
I'm the exception to the rule lol, I have about 2Tb of stuff now on a raid box, thats 2000Gb of pics, music, vids, software and backups from my machines. I hate backing up to DVDs...

total hd space is about 2tb but this is not a how much hard drive space do i have thread it a game problem thread. Please keep on subject Thank You kindly

Is the character's idle animation in main menu running fast too?
If this can help, I had that problem you said Surak, under Windows, and fixed it installing this two drivers from AMD:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/Setup.exe
http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/amdcpusetup.exe
My processor is an AMD Athlon X2 3800+ DualCore
(In Linux the game runs faster and stability is better)
PS: My video-card is a GeForce 6150 OnBoard (nForce 430 Chipset)

Yes Surak, this was mentioned in the cheating thread, main menu animation is superfast aswell.

Yeap, I read your advise, I just stated mine because maybe she installed only one of the two drivers listed. Just to colaborate!

yea worth a try, but i still dont get it, its normal that proc's with 64-bit architecture and dual cores need special drives on 32-bit OS'es but if theyre not helping...
Last question, do u have graphic crashes while playing? i mean not standard crashes that end with an error, a Regnum Window freeze? or anyother "strange" issues, AND is this a regnum only problem? (i know that i should be mentioned somewhere here, but i dont have much patience to look for it)

Tried disabling one of the 2 cores in the bios or is the machine a pos from an OEM like HP or Dell?
Boger

Disabling shouldnt be a solution when new K8 and Optimizer are installed, but its worth a try...
Is your GPU/CPU Overclocked? and if it is, how?

oki doki, in order this is what we have tried so far and the problems twinkle is having on her pc still
we have borrowed a new hdd clean installed windows, all driver including the latest dual core etc...
Downloaded a fresh version of regnum
Tried the game from above
It ran too fast still
Formatted the drive, tried the same with xp pro
it ran too fast still
Formatted again installed windows 2000 and all driver
It STILL ran to fast
So we are a bit better on speed thanks to the advice of boger with the drivers he suggested but the game is still too fast to play and it annoys the shit out of other players
The game itself is running about 3 times it should from the initial ngd studio man dropping onto the screen onwards
If anyone has any idea please let us know as ive run out.
Twinkle will be playing on either mine or her sons pc when she goes to war but do remember we like to use our own pcs sometimes.
At these time she will use her warp factor 10 pc to level her character up in the only place she can, the wz. She will not however attack anyone unless they attack her first at those times.
This is all we can think of until we get her pc to run the game at a sensible speed
We thank you for your help and patience in this matter, and any support is appreciated

P.S. the pc is not overclocked in any way

and you tried disabling one of the 2 cpu cores? tried underclocking, tried setting the ram settings to DDR/DDR2 standard spec speeds and timings? Tried underclocking the cpu, the machine have anything special in any way done to it at all? The bios is at it's most recent revision?
Its only this macine with this account or is it this machine with any account? Do you have other spare hardware in your other machines to swap around, such as ram, cpu and gpu? [NOTE] if swapping out the cpus ALWAYS change the thermal goo each and every time you remove the heatsink from the cpu, airpockets in the goop can cause overheats. I recomend using something like arctic silver 5 and their cleaners to remove whats there and what to put in place of the stock goop.

Please try the experimental server, we have enabled an alternate timing method.

Surak, you are a star. The speed problem is now solved and we know it will be on the main server on the next update.
Thank you to all the other people who helped.
It must be said i was highly amused in the way they got twinkle to run but im not telling :P

What I don't get surak is that I read earlier that server-lag (character repositioning) was related to anti-speedhack measures, why don't they apply to Twinkle? Or were them disabled?
And Inkster, you don't need a spare cpu to disable one of the cores, just go into the BIOS when you boot your PC (Press DEL to enter setup, or another key depending on your BIOS).
Finally I really doubt you would be getting those problems under GNU/Linux, because the game doesn't support multiple cpus under Linux; if you had a spare drive to install XP, just try installing Ubuntu (www.ubuntu.com, just follow instructions).

They make you chase a chicken?
And yes, most things I talked about are features of the bios in good mobos, not usually features you'll find in a machine from HP or Dell, but are a great set of tools to have as youcn use them to force your computer to work in different ways, got a program that needs little cpu power but needs tons of memory bandwidth bt latency of the ram isn't a big issue? You can set that up to maximize that app's preformance, need more power then yor CPU can handle and need tighter memory timings bandwidth be dammed? you can do that too. A good mobo with loads of features is not to be underestimated, even if you think yo'll never need them now, eventally you may need to.

Hi, my friend has this problem too, but only on official server, he's looking forward to next update too.
Only weird thing is that it's running superfast only when regnum window is active. 1 in-game day takes 0.5 real life seconds, but when some other window is activated, regnum runs at normal speed.

NGD thanks you guys are the best (apart from surak who got on his horse and rode off before i could kill him)
Im not sure about this but it sounds basic problem if u have powernowd active or such. Make sure your computer runs same clock speed all the time.
Almost all cases the game checks how fast your computer is. if u start the game when your computer runs at 50% clock speed (like 1gHz), and then the cpu raises the clock speed to 100% (2gHz), The game still thinks its 1 ghz and thats why its acts too fast.
typical proplem with laptops.
