I can't log into the game

So this is the situation. After downloading the game I install it and everything seems fine. I open the game get as far as typing my username and password. Then afterwards a third screen appears (I'd assume the game is loading up at this point) and as it's almost loading it closes and I get an error message. This is what it said:

NOTE: this error had my username and password in it so I replaced those terms with <username> and <password>

This is the message:

11:50:44 PM: Execution of command '.\RegnumOnline.exe <username> <password> live_swe SELFUPDATE' failed (error 2: the system cannot find the file specified.)

I decided to check the details and this is what I got

11:50:43 PM: can't open file 'SelfUpdate/RegnumOnline.exe' (error 5: access is denied.)

11:50:44 PM: Failed to copy the file 'RegnumOnline.exe' to 'SelfUpdate\RegnumOnline.exe' (error 5: access is denied.)

11:50:44 PM: Failed to copy the file 'msvcp80.dll' to 'SelfUpdate\msvcp80.dll' (error 5: access is denied.)

11:50:44 PM: Failed to copy the file 'msvcr80.dll' to 'SelfUpdate\msvcr80.dll' (error 5: access is denied.)

11:50:44 PM: Failed to copy the file 'msvcm80.dll' to 'SelfUpdate\msvcm80.dll' (error 5: access is denied.)

Does anyone have an idea as to what happened? Do I have to adjust my firewall or something because I'm all confused now and I just want to play...

uh I am not the best in technical issues, but maybe you should uninstall Regnum, download and install the game again

if you are using Vista then install the game outside the "program files" folder

oh and of course:
restart your box
