Crash problems every some minutes
I write this topic for a clanmate, because my english is better (I hope ).
Problem: His Windows Client of Regnum crash very often depends on it what he does ingame. If he stands outside a city and don't move much and do only healing of party members as conjurer, he can play many hours without no crash. But if he moves to much, maybe going to a city or simply another desert, his client crash every 5-10 minutes. If he has luck, the game runs 15 minutes, but that is not often. And if he has bad luck his client crash after 60 seconds again. This makes it almost impossible to do quests or something. Things we tested: He tried different settings in the launcher options. He tried the Safe Mode, max and min gfx settings, OpenGL and DirectX and he also disabled Sound and Music. He also disabled the soundcard and any not needed devices in the Windows Device Manager and tried to run Regnum after a restart. He also downloaded regnum from another source and tried a complete reinstall of the game. He also have installed the current version of the device drivers (even Direct3D). But Regnum still crash. All other games, even 3D games with higher system requirement, run without any problems. System: CPU: P4 3,2 GHz GFX: ATI Radeon X1600 Pro Ram: 2,5 GB DDR2 OS: Windows XP SP2 Game Version: 0.9.23 (Hotfix) (Date: 2007/11/14) He uploaded all crashreports of Regnum, we hope you get them. If not, please leave a message. Two answers we hope to get: Do someone have a solution? Can the developers fix this bug or can we help somehow to get the needed informations? I hope you can help us, he likes the game, but it is very annoying to restart Regnum every 5 minutes. sincerely Stefan1200 Last edited by Stefan1200; 11-19-2007 at 05:30 PM. |

Is it possible that the problem is an incompatibility with the Hyperthreading technology from Intel? Someone in the german regnum forums write almost the same problems gone away after disabling Hyperthreading. My clanmate tried to disable Hyperthreading too, but his Windows make problems without this Hyperthreading, so he cannot test it.
Maybe you can test it and make Regnum compatible with Hyperthreading? |

Lol.. windows, multi core os ?
Windows XP doesn't even support pure 64-bit technology. Anyway. I don't think reinstalling WIndow would help in that case.. If it don't work by disabling HT in BIOS it wont work even if you reinstall Windows. But I can confirm that HT cause a lot of problems, cause one of the memebers in our clan reported the same problem. They were gone after disabling HT.
