Don't forget the forums!!! I know, it's not a chat (though we use them as one ), but they are very helpful and people answer quickly.

You gain experience for each kill based on how much you contributed to the kill, you level up when you get enough experience. There are trainer npcs who will level up the skill trees your class has available to you. Every two levels you can put another level into a skill tree... Every two levels of the skill tree, you get a new skill. For example, if you choose archer as your class, you can go into either long bows or short bows for weapons. Long bows are slower, have higher range and higher damage. Short are faster, lower range, lower damage. You have a skill tree for each weapon type you equip. The powers in this tree can ONLY be used if you have the correct weapon equipped. Long bows, you start with the "Shield piercing skill", which does fairly good damage. Then the next skill you get (at level 5, level 3 in long bows) will be parabolic shot, which increases your range temporarily. You also get extra skill trees, depending how many weapons your class has. Mages get 3 extra becuase they only have one weapon type, archers get 2 extra, warriors only get 1. At level 10, you choose a subclass, for archers this is either hunter or marksman. With your subclass, you get two more, subclass-specific skill trees. (Generally people will just talk about subclasses as "class"). You can train OUT of your skill trees at any time by typing /reset_powers, but you can't change your class or subclass, you're stuck with what you pick. On weapon variety, there's a new weapon type every few levels, different weapons have different advantages/disadvantages, and you can pick up weapons that have bonuses to some character stats, or some of the weapons stats. This is the same for armor... Both are class and/or subclass specific. Oh yeah, also. Healing is done by conjurers who have healing spells, or sitting down which puts health/mana regeneration up. You will regain health slowly, but not being in combat mode, not moving and resting all speed it up. |
