Self updater not working

Whenever I run my game I get these error messages that say "trying to solve NULL hostname: denied" then when my game is starting it closes and says "cannot open self/updater" please help! If anyone could help me that would be smashing

which os do you use?

if its vista, install it outside the program files folder.
could also be a virusscan or firewall issue.

another thing that could be a reason is that your name resolution is not working properly
