Other Realm Chars

I wanted to start this thread to find out what people thought of players having chars in more than one realm.

It is supposed to be a bannable offense, i know, but the fact is that it happens anyway - but it's not the legality of it i'm interested in.

What i'm interested in is how people feel about having a player fighting alongside you one time, then on another occasion they are trying to kill you.

My opinion is this: i suppose players should have the right to try different realms and experience different aspects of the game.

However, i wish they would play for only one realm at a time.

I do not like it when a player who is my ally, on another occassion has a hand in killing me.

For me, it is an uncomfortable contradiction of the game...

Well I don't really care, it's just a game. I'd just zap the dude more often if he did that to me

I always said to myself if I ever get enough time, I'm gonna play all realms and all classes - Marks&hunter in syrtis, Barb&knight in alsius, Warlock&Conju in ignis. So *theoreticaly* I would have accounts in all realms, and because the game is the way it is and you cant talk to ppl from other realms, I guess I'd join in from time to time to chars I don't play anymore to see ppl. And that's all there is to it

It's just a game, try and have fun with it, that's what games are there for. And if you're really psyched about it, remember: It's a character: You might be friends with the player behind a character, but that has nothing to do with your character being an enemy or an ally with their character.

It's like saying you'd be pissed at your friend if he made an evil character in DnD and backstabbed you - it's a *role playing* game, that's what ppl are supposed to do.

I totally agree with you mak, one minute you fighting alongside a realm mate then 5 mins later they are trying to kill you when they are from an opposing realm, its a very uncomfortable situation for me

I don't see whats uncomfortable about it, I have an Alt in Syrtis and my thoughts about it are simple, I love to talk to friends and I think if thats taken away from me its utterly stupid.

It goes another way if you are talking about killing your own realmmates, well no, I don't think it does. All I see is pure joy in it. Its not like your brother is stabbing you in the back, then again in a way it is.

It breaks down to different reasons.

Well i never played with pjs from another realm but i played with people from another realms in alsius and i dont care from where they come.

I mean, i have friends on another realms and if i like can play with his accounts and they can play with mine.

If i found they in war my joy for killing elves get a X2 bonus. Its just more funny for me. If after that they come to play with me i dont care if they killed me 50 times. Its just a game.

I cant feel bad playing with people i dont like, but if they are good persons i dont care if they come from Ignis, Syrtis or Alsius.

Yes, a game where you pick a realm and fight for it.

Hey, maybe you can even take a little pride in your realm and care about its fortunes.

And in this war-game maybe you can find it strange when an ally is also your enemy.

This is a forum for discussion, so let's discuss.

I am merely expressing my opinion that i find it uncomfortable having an ally who is sometimes also my enemy.

I don't have a problem fighting alongside him: just when he tries to kill me on other occassions.

Nope, you are supposed to pick one realm and fight for it.

I think the team spirit suffers when you know the person who is fighting alonside you might kill you in the next fight

I think it is a bad idea to allow accounts in multiple realms and should be enforced. If and when someone is ready to try a different realm simply delete your char(s) and start over. If you have freinds in other realms meet on the exp. server and use the global chat and help NGD find bugs while you are at it.

I have 3 accounts 1 in every realm...ignis is the only char i use in war simply because other realm chars are low lvl and i use them to chat and congrats players on good pvp's battles...so i dont think this is so bad...

i dunno....on one hand, it is always amuses me to see a friend on the other side of the battlefield. as i don't particularly subscribe to regnum's version of nationalism (read, realmism?) it doesn't really bother me too much. after all, we may be in different realms, but we are all playing regnum.

on the other hand, i can certainly see how this could be easily (and i'm sure that it is) abused. how many times do you see a ridiculously low-level character at a tactically important spot in the wz (like central save, in syrtis etc.)? i'm sure that quite a few of these folks are mules, but i'm equally as sure that many are spies.

I used to be 100% against it but now i think it's ok to have chars in more than 1 realm. There's no problem as long as they try to do a good job no matter what realm they play in. The problem is the players who only have chars in another realm to spy/lead others into ambushes.
