Request: English channel & Help channel
Yes, You have probably seen this request here, but I decided to post similar request again. See, we _really_ need a channel where people speak English language. I would like to underscore that English IS NOT my mother tongue either, but for the sake of convenience we seriously need this channel.
I come from the Eternal Lands world, it is a great open-source MMORPG game which I played for more than a year. I needed some break so I came here, and I realy enjoy playing Regnum. See, Eternal Lands have one nice feature - Help Channel - where dedicated players HELP people, especially new people. This channel IS REALLY ONE OF THE BEST THINGS that new player need. I would strongly suggest Regnum developers to follow this example, and make this kind of channel IN ENGLISH so people can HELP each other. These two requests are related - I must say that I have opinion that Spanish-spoken people DO NOT answer my question - Usualy some people from Europe help me. I do not want to enter into some psycho-debate, or some nationalistic debate about this. But I saw on this forum other people think/feel share my opinion. These are thoughts of a new Regnum player who also called some other friends to play Regnum, so now there is a group of 4 new players without any help. (Not to mention quest-texts in Spanish...) |

About Spanish/English Quest texts:
After logging in, when the starter synchronises the client data with the server, you can press the option button, where you have the ability to choose between english and spanish (besides fullscreen, resolution etc) About English/Spanish/Other language Channels, i absolutely agree |

First; Hi and welcome
Now, about the help channel; it was discussed a loooong time ago (so far ago that it was even in another forum I guess), but it was never realized (so far), I always thought it was a good idea. From time to time you'll find some high-level players going around in the starting zones, some of them english-speakers who will try to help, but I now it is an strange event. And besides there are not so much spanish players with fluent english; the average age of the players is low and english is not an mandatory language in the first grades (at least in Argentina). I hope you enjoy the game even with this shortcomings; good luck.

The Global chat is going away to be replaced with a more kingdom oriented channel (I'm take a guess what the replacement is but the global channel will be removed). It was put in because at the start there were very few players and having 10-25 in that chat was not a problem but now the Global chat is out of control.
I don’t think is that there is no one willing to help but that channel is so full and the messages flies by so fast it is easy to miss a request for help. Now a channel for "Help" or a list of players that are willing to help other players is a good idea. Also not sure what kingdom you are in but if you are Alsius and you still need help look me up in game I will try to help.

Well,
Fortunately, a decision has been made that will help on this matter, a lot. As follows: - As stated, global channel will go away. - "General" channel will remain as it's (filtered by realm and radius) - There will be a global realm channel replacing the global one. Messaging between enemy factions won't be possible. So far so good, but I think we didn't disclosed this already: the realm channel will be separated into language versions. Having as many channels as there are official languages on the game. For instance, if you enter the game on Ignis, you will be automatically joined to the Ignis channel of your configured language. But you will also have the opportunity to view messages from other languages as well, using a filter configuration. Internally, there will be Ignis-spanish, Ignis-english, Ignis-portuguese and so on. So, the main rule will be that every channel will have a preferred language. That doesn't mean that you will be banned for sending an spanish text on the english channel, but you will be politely (at least from us) redirected to the correct channel. This is still on our to-do list because we have other priorities right now (related to securing the continuity of the game), but it will be implemented soon enough as our official stance is to have game where people from different nations can play along. Of course, we will try to make the configuration of these options as automatic and transparent as possible. Regards

Right now there is “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” happening between Alsius and Igins against Syrtis. Sometimes the two realms fighting together are need just to balance the number out and at least for me make the war fun again. This would not be possible without the global chat.
