Tips for a blunt Barbarian?
I have looked through the forums about using blunt and have only found lvl 50 configs. Currently my barb is lvl48 and i was wondering if anyone would share some tips for a nice blunt setup.
Current setup as follows; Blunt 19; Forceful 5, Brutal 5, Mind Squasher 5, Steel Templer 5 Tactics 15; Caution 4, Trip 4 2hd 15; TFB 4 Warcries 19; Frenzy 5, OwtH 5, Overwhealming 5, Onsl 5, Madness 2 Peirce 9; All lvl 1 spells I was using a peirce setup before this one, so i will have to get used to less range, but I like the idea of MS (currently there are way too many SM mages on horus) Any tips or suggestions are welcome thanks

That seems like a good setup to me, if you like it, use it

Few changes I would do:
Drop 2 handed mastery to level 11, get slash to lvl 13 to have devastate, And take the points out of OwtH to put it into tactics (Feint and spring).

Sounds almost exactly like my own config at 48...
I think I would keep it. If anything, I would consider dropping forceful blow and levelling some CC spells instead; Howl/Deafening Roar/Jaw Breaker. From experience trying out a setup without OWTH on Horus, you can't really rely on other barbs to cast it on you, and you are gonna miss the extra damage, both you and your team mates... |

Feint really is only a bad variant of Trip, as it provides no damage, higher mana cost, and shorter duration. Also, for a Blunt setup Thirst for blood is very important in order to cause the damage you miss when not using Slashing/Piercing.

I don't need to say more i think. (archer here, but same goes with barbs) A TFB setup with blunt is really bad ass, but what if you got ms-ed in 1vs1 situation, where usually you're out of mana with all that pre-buffing ? Knock down (and dizzy for barbs, you have some good ones) is the best protection you can have against all classes (UM != sanctuary :P), and usually if the TFB barb doesn't have CC spells to counter efficiently a mind squasher, (s)he's done. |
