Regnum more fun after Invasions?
Well, here we are, almost a month since invasions have been implemented. Since then, every realm (Horus) has been invaded, people have gone to the golden dragon, the depth of the game has exploded with lots of potential for more content, and everyone hates each other just a bit more than before.
On the other hand.... People have logged off after successfully defending a realm for hours until long after bedtime, only to find in the morning that the enemy invaded while everyone was asleep. Time zones rather than skills and numbers have decided battles. Whole realms have been pulled away from grinding, hunting, etc. to defend a castle, which consists of chatting for 30 minutes and fighting for 5, several times a night. Gate wars have lasted half a day, and if there are any reasonable amount of defenders it still has the same inevitable result - the attackers get smashed. So, my fellow Regnum players, what is your opinion? Are you having more fun in the game after invasions than you did before? Do you enjoy invasion wars and gate battles more than you enjoyed mass hunting? Do you still feel like the game is a stress reliever or do you get frustrated and worried over the results of a failed war? In short, do you enjoy playing Regnum more now than before invasions? This thread is open for your comments, it's all on you. |

I like it more, it gave a meaning to holding forts and taking others. I don't like the effect that balance has on the invasions, but once that is sorted I think they will be alot better.

I most definitely am enjoying the game more. I always enjoyed fort battles much more than hunting. For me, running around hunting and taking out levelers really isn't that much fun. The fact that hunting was more widespread prior to the update compared to proper fort wars made me play a lot less.
Now in Horus, fort wars have become a daily affair. People are learning to play tactically and that is a huge attraction in the game for me. My only problem now is that I'm addicted to the game again.

This patch was a mixed bag of nuts. It brought new content yes, but also brought new bugs and intensive bashings on all sides. I would say yes I have had some fun after this patch at first, but I do not appreciate the tediously long fights that we have to have now. Prior when forts were easy and castles were easy to take it was more fast paced and fun. It was more based on the player than the amount of players he had with him or her when it was realm versus realm.
So far I say Asi-asi, its only so so. Because you can't also contend with just the forts and castles, you must also remember grinding difficulties have increased and I believe that increases the grinding curve hurting the newer players taking it longer for them to even get to the war zone that before. To say every realm has been invaded is not to say every realm has invaded, but one has been unable to invade this whole time (Horus->Alsius). I would have rather seen this patch come to fruition when the realms were near balanced and time zone issues addressed prior to its inception. Also after a couple more customer service issues had been addressed with previous issues. The game still has potential, it's just not their yet. |

I love it and hate it at the same time =P
It brings a whole new aspect to playing and gives us a motive and a reason to go out to war. It gives it an exciting thrill to know that you have something to defend, or something to earn when you are trying for an invasion or defending from being invaded. But it seems to be that it also causes a lot of stress and people tend to fight alot more - both in game and in forum. Really, it's a game. I play to have fun and not have to worry about stress. But now that the fighting as gotten to an almost personal, chaotic level, now it seems to make everything much more stressful =P But it is fun, and does seem to throw you more into the game. It's no longer just a mindless "capture fort, fight, defend, lose, go capture a different one blah blah blah" mindset. Although I admit, I am sooooooo tired of staying up late just to keep our gems safe XD But over all, it is fun ^^ <3

I like it that there are now more fort wars, but I did have more fun in fort wars before the invasion update.
