Can't run Regnum!!

Hello everyone.

I've got an issue when trying to run Regnum.

I run it, it perfectly shows the Terms of Use and that stuff. Then I log in and there's no problem. Then I get to the world selection. I click on RA (International / ES) and then Enter Game World. It says "Verifying" below. Then a blue bar start filling up. When its done it closes and nothing ever happens. I've tried for 100 times now and I still got the same problem... Can anyone please help me? I would really appreciate it.

If it's the same problem i have, it must be Segmentation failure, check the live folder, you will see a lot of crasch backtraces. If it's seg fault, there still no solution, neither in the spanish forum or this one, see the post called segmentation failure here, it is one of the firsts. Try some of that, but i don't think it will work. My momentary solution is run the game under wine, i am playing like that know with no major problems. Bye.

Start the game from a terminal, cd to your regnum dir and run it manually: ./rolauncher

Pfft, you think you have it bad.... i just downloaded the game from the website... well i got the 32 bit-direct; it finished then i put it into a file on my desktop then properties-->permissions-->"Allow exectuing file as program"-->Apply and... well... when i double click the shortcut and everything it just won't work... and no forums that i found could help me so please... HELP ME!!!

As was suggested already, I would suggest opening a terminal session and then run the game from the terminal, like so:

name@server:/regnum$ ./rolauncher

The gui should pop up, then you can switch back to the terminal for errors, like permissions, ownership, missing libraries, missing dependancies, etc.

You could copy and paste the terminal output here, and it would be much easier to help you.

I have an intel onboard graphics chip that was not working until I enabled the direct rendering with DRI. I got the issue above and ran from terminal.

and here's what the output was...
Saving backtrace to crash_backtrace_6333.log
Got SIGSEGV (segmentation fault)

I guess I am stuck not using my mythbuntu box

This problem does not seem to persist in Ubuntu Hardy.. If downgrading (i.e. reinstalling) to Ubuntu Hardy 8.04LTS is an option for you this may very well allow you to run regnum again.

I can login, apparently, but then Regnum closes.
When I ran it in terminal I got this-

Illegal instruction

-Which wasn't very helpful.
Any ideas?
My videocard is a GeForce2 MX DH Pro - Is that too old?
