Cant type name in character selection box

So im finally getting closer to playing. Get all the way through character creation then when i get to the name selection part I cant type in the box. Nothing comes up caps normal numbers etc.

Any help would be really great

Running Fedora 10 fully updated
Geforce graphics card fully updated

Sounds stupid, but did you try to click on textbox first?

If you're in windowed mode, try hitting alt-enter to fullscreen the game, then typing in the password. If you are already in fullscreen, try setting the client to windowed mode (in a lower res than your desktop).

Maybe its a problem of the gnome desktop keymap preferences. To solve it u should have only one keymap in the keyboard preferences, remove the other keymaps.

Thanks very much all. Turned out to be the keyboard layout issue like you said Cuchulainn. I had it set to UK as default but the original US layout was still in the options menu.

As soon as I deleted the US layout option i was able to type in the box.
