Game crashes when I summon

im conjurer
game works fine since update except when i want to summon my lich (or golem or anything else).
when the spell is done I barely can see the new pet control buttons and then the game crashes
i installed new client
im on ubuntu 8.10 with a nvidia 5500
(doing a hunter to see if i can have a pet)

--> same crash when i tame the mob

Same problem here on ONE of my computers. Both computers are ubuntu. Game crashes after summon, and also after tame. If a pet is already tamed (ie. I went on the other computer and tamed it), the computer crashes as soon as I logon.

Anyone else with this problem?

These two computers are pretty much the same, except one is a bit slower and the computer that is crashing has a crap video card in it, possible near or the same as 5500. I will check.

EDIT: the computer that crashes has a GeForce FX 5200 in it, and the computer that works has a GeForce 6600 GT

Try enabling the "download all resources at once" option in the launcher. Could be that the bar is a missing resource. I had a crash happen to me the very first time I got that bar, but it hasn't happened since.

Nope didn't work. When i loaded another character with download all resources on, all the resources were already downloaded and when I loaded the hunter back up, the game crashes as normal. Perhaps its a problem with the crap video card?

actually i have a FX5200 too
i already checked "all ressources" and it didnt fix the problem.
something strange though, i still download (same?) ressources each time i log on, and while playing, whereas the box is checked.

Try enabling safe mode in the launcher options.

Here it didnt work

I have ubuntu in a acer 5100 notebook. It always works well but when I used my hunter and get a pet it crashs.

I tried safe mode and not work yet.

Help me please

I have the 5200 on 8.04 TLS and exactly the same problem. Wouldn't mind so much except for the fact that I spent hours getting to lvl 10 to just find out that the one thing I really wanted to do, caused the game to crash.

Now I'm considering deleting this char and going with Warlock, plus the thing doesn't really work the way I had expected.

It's quite alot of extra work to get that beastie fighting for you it seems. I'd really rather it just "know" when it's conjured that it's time to fight the thing that is targeted, at least that should be the default option.

I did imedieiatly try Safe Mode after it did it the first two times and it worked just fine. But that's not really an acceptable solution. Wouldn't be so bad if Safe Mode stayed selected. For me I have to go into options each time I want to play the game and click the check box again.

So in conclusion this is still a problem. Setting to Safe Mode is not a solution, it's a band-aid. It would be one thing if this were a totally open source game not trying to gain any kind of profit from it's players, this one is, it should work.
