What do you think about the end of the world in 2012, forseen by the myans because their calender "predicts" things, and it ends at 2012, and that the oracle of somewhere or other (not necessarily delphi) says that the last of 5 sections of the time is in the 2000s and it will end around there.

counter evidence: the egyptians have the great pyramid, which acted as a solar/lunar fortuneteller. it predicted stuff to, and said the world will end in 2900 something. also, y2k was a fake as well.

If people really believed this rubbish then the world would have ended many, many, many times already.
