The Way to Montsognir bugged?

hit lvl 10 tonight on my mage and went back to the town got The Way to Montsognir quest
1. Speak to Riam (Eternal White Island: 814, 956)
2. Go to Herulf's Slope
3. Speak to Balim (Montsognir City: 1036, 1332)
4. Give Trainer's note to your Montsognir City class trainer

so i followed where it said to go.
i get to the mage trainer and click him and nothen quest says i need to Give Trainer's note to my class trainer but i dont have a note never got one.
iv droped and retaken the quest and still no luck am i doing something wrong do i have to spend all my skill points or something ?

You mean you can't continue the quest by speaking to your class trainer? And that is because you have no note in your inventory?

If you press 'U' you get the list of open quests. Make sure you pay attention to what it is saying, and try to do that. The only known bugged quest in Alsius is a high level quest with some teleporters that doesn't exist any more (and one were the guy you have to speak to have moved far across the map).

Yes, this quest has an error and it can not be completed. This is happening since the last version update (when NGD changed initiation quests).

The problem seems to be only for mages. I tried the equivalent quest with my archer and you get the note item since the begging of the quest (when you speak to the trainer in Rottersval).
But for mages, Aaga do not give you the item. I tryed with my Conjurer, with my mage and then when that mage became a Warlock. I accepted the quest no less than 20 times but the note item is not given. And I tryed to complete the quest no less than 10 times, but you get stuck when you realize you do not have the note item for Haldor.

I guess you should just cancel the quest and keep going. Even if they fix it, you would need to start over to get the note item. You can choose your subclass anyway.

AFAIK when you finish "The Way to Montsognir" you would get 2 other quest, one for every subclass trainer (the quests that makes you speak with both to choose your subclass). But since you can not finish it, you can not do those either. So now, level 10 for mages has no quests.

ya i figured it was just bugged sucks about the other 2 quests but no big ty for the help

I just expanded to 6 chars and leveled two mages and a warrior past 10. Worked fine for warrior, but not for the mages. I didn't receive the trainers note after multiple trys. This bug actually interferes with 3 quests. The two "talk to the trainers" quests are dependant on completing "The Way to Montsognir."

The fastest way through the missing xp is to get your subclass and grind at the yeti field in Thundermace's ruins. On the bright side, the yeti give good drops, and there should be some conj's hanging around there now ;-)

Hope they fix it soon, it's causing almost as much confusion as the "Aquantis Leader" quest.

Do we need another Alsius conj to confirm this?

Well hell knows why I did not do that quest when I leveled my conj at first but now when I went back to do all the new Alsius initiation area quests I noticed that this quest (The way to montsognir) is bugged now.
