trying to pick a class

So I wanna be either an archer or barbarian... which puts out better dmg and/or is more useful in rvr?

Depends on very much on playingstyle and setup. You choose what you like, but I'll give some thoughts. There are many threads like this, so do a search!

Basically, there are four choices:

Archers
Hunter: Sneaky bastards. They are fast, can use pets and can become invisible. Not the primary choice for RvR - but great for hunts, since they can track enemies.

Marksman: Very long range and high damage. Useful in RvR to kill single targets from long distance, or to stop enemies.

Warriors
Knight: A tank. Can take a lot of damage. Useful to protect allies in bigger combats, and to distract enemies and get the attention away from allies (mages).

Barbarian: Really high damage. Useful to rush and kill enemies fast. Have great speed and damage buffs.

All are good in RvR - but personally I think I like marks or barb the most. But it's all up to you: do you prefer range or melee?

yea marks or barb are deffinately what im lookin for...
I think im gonna start out as a barb and see how that goes.

do wat i do, create a player of each class that way u can understand what each class is about. helps u find a better class more suited to u, if u get bored swich to another char and also u can experement on many different things and you will understand the game from many different views.

but leveling them all can be a pain, once there lvl 33 u kinda get the picture anyway.
