Default Psychology and Regnum

Some thoughts regarding realm selection and the psychology behind it, anyone have any insight? Here's some thoughts from what I have noticed of the 3 realms (listed in alphabetical order to remove preference... even if it puts my realm first :P:

Alsius:
This seems to be the lone wolf realm. Despite the bonus, despite having players, despite having clans, Alsians are like the Goats, solo, off, disorganized, and doing their own thing. Most seem to instinctively rebel against too much control, but at the same time work together because they want to be helpful to the other players around them, when they do work together. A bit more militaristic, like Ignis, but not the group mindset. Also, with few exceptions, those Alsians that are female are really guys. :P

Ignis:
While supposedly having a few less players, the Ignians are like a pack of wolves. It seems to be a realm that is reasonably dominated by males (don't see too terribly many female characters, at least), and they seem to work together for combat quite well, which helps them overcome the fewer number of overall players (at least, from what I understand). More goal oriented players.

Syrtis:
Maybe it is just because, on some levels, the realm is more visually appealing, but far more female players in Syrtis, from what I have seen. Also, Syrtis seems to be like Alsius, in being a lot of lone wolves, as it were, but they work together out of teamwork more, sometimes. That said, this realm attracts archers like mad, so their territory is often a bit more dangerous because you almost ALWAYS run into a Hunter in Syrtis. Maybe elves just make people think of rangers, go figure, but they're nasty, so they keep Syrtis a bit safer, it seems, as scouts are everywhere, watching and protecting their realm.

Thoughts?

I don't think there's one realm psyche. For instance Alsius at Ra had the name to be the most organized realm for a while.

Well, and that may be, but then you might also have cultural differences with respect to how each realm is perceived, a bit, and also linguistic differences with regards to how the realm names are viewed. Maybe it is on Ra, maybe not, but on Horus... I have never really seen it be anything else, with one exception.

Lly was an amazing instrument in organization, and she did wonders for trying to get people to work together. She is missed.

Also, there is a definite difference in the realms and the people attracted (I'm not the only one that notices):

Syrtis has the population, but they are often given to the defensive role. Basically, the non-contact types who just protect their own... Interesting.

Well for being almost a Ra veterant now, I can assure you that Realms has nothing to do with the cliché you are talking about. If there was a cliché to say I would say:

- Alsius is the strong warrior Realm
- Ignis is the mighty mage Realm
- Syrtis is the land of Archer, a weed.

Guess why Alsius seems to be the underdog ? (-:

Syrtis on Tyr is a mess. But we enjoy ourselves.

I still don't understand why NGD had to put 2 saves from realms with the largest population difference at the closest proximity, this is madness.

I wasn't so much trying to address the differences in the realms, as the type of psyche that is attracted to each realm. Basically, when you see Syrtis, what kind of person is it that is attracted to that realm? And does that bear itself out in the gameplay, and the way that the realm appears to function from the outside?

In other words, are some of these realm stereotypes merely the result of the type of people that are attracted to the realm in the first place? Like, in my case, I like helping, but I don't like the organization of many of the more... dogmatic clans. At the same time, for visual reasons alone, I would just not play in Ignis. It's not me. I could in Syrtis, but I went with the baren snow-covered plains of Alsius.

Now, is that maybe similar in other cases? No idea, but I find it curious. Particularly what appears to be the female population differences between the realms, because the numbers do seem higher in Syrtis, from what I have seen. Just, curious, is all. What kind of psyches each seems to draw on.
