Transfer items between characters

I assume this has been posted before but I couldn't find it.

Is there any plan to be able to transfer items between characters of the same account? For example, I got an awesome barb weapon on my hunter but I have to find someone else to trade, then change character, then trade again. Another example, I got a good magic gem by xim on one character but it would be more useful on another character. Certain items could stay untradeable like horses.

Maybe a chest could be created like Guild Wars or bag #5 be shared among all your characters.

we are designing chests right now... when implemented you should be able to do just that.
