A question to Barbarians lvl 50

Yesterday I got hit by a Expansive Wave casted by a Barbarian and caused 1464 damage. Is that not too much for an area spell? I mean even Sultar's do not cause that much damage.

Sultar is a low dmg area spell (usually doing 650 - 800 dmg; an average barb's v.slow normal hits that hard) -1.4k dmg from an expansive wave is not even that high.

very slow lvl 50 hammer + full buff or eve hammer

But according to Wikia an Expansive Wave (5) does 280-310 damage to opponents...

And if that area spell allways hits that hard why do they not use it more often? I allways hear about how hard Sultar's are but nobody talks about the (much more damaging?) Expansive Wave....

By the way what's the range and area of this Exp. Wave area spell? Wikia does not seem to know.

And plus 100% weapon dmg (as indicated by the row above the blunt dmg - Attack dmg +100% at lvl 5). If you have a look around on the forums, you'll see people doing 1.5k+ dmg with lvl 1 spells (100% dmg + ~50 dmg).

Maybe you have just not been in the wz so often, I can safely say expansive wave is one of the most commonly used barb areas. Sultar is not often used for its dmg, it's used for the 8s area 10 knockdown effect.

It's approximately 90 degree arc around the barb with a radius of 6.

1464 really isn't all that much. I got hit for 2547 the day before yesterday, on my hunter. Almost would have been an insta-kill if it wasn't for my health being low anyway.

Im a bit late but Ill add in that whereas sultars is a range 0 spell covering area 10 and with a knockdown, Expansive is a short range (about range 6) arc wave infront of the caster, And yes this spells damage is effected by buffs and items so you can get some very high hits, its the highest hitting area in the game as far as I can remember.

WHAT i use expansion wave lvl 4 and only hit 450-600...

mmm maybe he used buffs which made him vunarable such as collosus and berzerk, i dont use them coz my defence is very important since ive not yet seen another guy who has ma back in a war, apart from when i would go in war with athor, luka or abazigal but they have disapeared?

You should use Berserk on gate areas at least, and the hardest hitting wep you can find to make the most of the 100% attack power, unless pylons get in the way, as they often do, my Expansives often hit around the 1.2k mark.
