Infraction Points

I'm not a beginner, but this seemed like the best place to ask this...

I posted an 'inappropriate picture' on this forum, and someone who lacks a sense of humor forwarded it to NGD. I now have an Infraction Point.

Here's my question; how many of these things will equal a ban? And would it be just for the forums, or for the game as well?

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere, however, I don't have the time to go looking for it...

Not sure, but I would guess its a 3 strikes and your out system?

wow, hm I don't know. There are forum rules, but this might like first step to forum ban. You should ask Kailer directly what are these

Well VBulletin's infraction system is highly customizable.

Infraction points is basically a system to count your bad behavior with respect to the rules on the forum.
Depending on the setup moderators can give any amount of infraction points and write their own reason to it or use some - also customizable - pre-configured options giving you a reason and a certain amount of points.

Reaching a certain amount of points can lead to different actions among them temporary and permanent bans. Again all customizable.

Usually the infraction points a member has will be reduced over time, the time span is - you guessed - customizable.

Interesting is that if for let's say 3 points you get banned for a day and for 5 points you get banned for a week but you get rid of one point per week of good behavior then you can get banned for a day and likely still have 3 points after the ban has been lifted and get a weekly ban soon after if you continue to misbehave because you only need 2 more points.

Overall it needs disclosure from the mods what amount of points does exactly what.

If anyone wants to know more about that system I guess the best is to read the documentation of the forum software at vbulletin.com

In USER CP, and mod/admin, AKA devs, can give you. And I think Kailer gave it once to Magnet or Tia, forgot. There was screenie around.
