graphis resolution prob with 9.04

ever since i upgraded to ubuntu 9.04, i have had resolution problems with regnum, THEN with my whole desktop screen. It now boots up with a "beer-barrel" shape screen. Even if the desktop is normal, 1028x768, same as game always was, game starts up and BOOM, beerbarrel again. By beerbarrel, I mean narrower at the top and bottom, wide in the middle horizontal. Then when I close RO, desktop stays the same.

I have found that I can repair the dmg by going into nvidia x server settings, and changing refresh from "auto" to "85". That seems to fix it, but i cant save the change. It refuses to save to file.

Any solutions would be appreciated.

try running nvidia-settings as root

` sudo nvidia-settings `

then save it to xorg.conf
