Regnum, Mesa, 9.10
Hi,
while I was able to run Regnum in 9.04, I am not able to do so in 9.10. I am using ATI Radeon 9250, Mesa, and I think I did everything I did on 9.04 to make it work. But, on Kubuntu 9.10, game is simply crashing when starting autodetect, or when clicking and entering on server from a list. Crashlog: Code:
./game(_ZN10ClientBase14save_backtraceEv+0x5f) [0x632edf] ./game(_ZN10ClientBase12client_crashEi+0x8) [0x6332f8] /lib/libc.so.6 [0x7f5e0396d530] /usr/lib/dri/r200_dri.so(r200ValidateState+0x105) [0x7f5e0224a9c5] /usr/lib/dri/r200_dri.so [0x7f5e0224b375] /usr/lib/dri/r200_dri.so(_tnl_draw_prims+0x555) [0x7f5e023131e5] /usr/lib/dri/r200_dri.so(_tnl_vbo_draw_prims+0x66) [0x7f5e02313ce6] /usr/lib/dri/r200_dri.so [0x7f5e0230b8ef] ./game(_ZN8Engine3D12RenderizerGL18render_gui_surfaceEPNS_7SurfaceE+0x6ee) [0xb8aeee] ./game(_ZN8Engine3D12RenderizerGL15render_gui_meshEffPNS_4MeshEPKSt6vectorI10BitmapBaseSaIS4_EEPKS3_I13StringElementSaIS9_EEf+0x2e5) [0xb89c85] ./game(_ZN3GUI16Drawable_GUIMesh15render_internalEv+0xe8) [0x961c58] ./game(_ZN3GUI8Drawable6renderEv+0x2e) [0x90ad8e] ./game(_ZN3GUI6Widget11draw_signalENS_9AreaCoordE+0x130) [0x943630] ./game(_ZN3GUI6Widget11draw_signalEv+0x87) [0x943a17] ./game(_ZN13DisplayEntity15show_next_frameEv+0x3a) [0x62632a] ./game(_ZN13DisplayEntity15creation_notifyEP7Message+0x337) [0x6282b7] ./game(_ZN13EntityManager32initialize_entity_as_custom_typeEPKciS1_P7MessageP6Entity+0x3fb) [0x83ff3b] ./game(_ZN10GameClient19initialize_entitiesEv+0x676) [0x596df6] ./game(_ZN10GameClient4initEiPPc+0x201) [0x59ac41] ./game(main+0x161) [0x590291] /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xfd) [0x7f5e03958abd] ./game(__gxx_personality_v0+0x549) [0x590039] System info: Kubuntu 9.10 2gb ram X.Org X Server 1.6.4 direct rendering: Yes server glx version string: 1.2 client glx version string: 1.4 GLX version: 1.2 OpenGL version string: 1.3 Mesa 7.6

Looks like a vertex buffer bug (or, tenatively, a hooooouge problem with the flag state checking that somehow is completely missed by everything else) in the driver to me.... Couldn't really say any further without a newer Mesa.

No seriously, I would really recommend either installing the mesa packages from Lucid, or if that doesn't work, you could use the ones from Jaunty that are known to work on your system. It's been a busy year for development in the radeon drivers.
3200 is completely different hardware, btw.

Heh interesting. I upgraded to Mesa 7.8-devel, and Autodetect now doesn't crash. But it shows average FPS 0.
When I start a game, loading bar comes till half, then I get Segmentation Fault. So, Mesa 7.6 doesnt work, upgrading 7.8 doesnt work (yet), only left downgrading (which I might try and post results). Advice for those who are playing from Jaunty (9.04), dont upgrade to Karmic (9.10). Hopefully with Lynx (10.04) will come some Mesa fix.

Did you file a bug? If not, please look for one and if you can't find it, report it.
If you need help, ask on #ubuntu-bugs at Freenode for help, I'm 'qense' over there.
