I am having real issues at fort wars with an average fps of 2-3, when in safe mode.

I guess the best way to find out whether my laptop is no longer good enough to play RO anymore is by finding out what others are using (ie benchmarking it).

I would be grateful if people could post the details of the system they are using to play the game, please? And whether they have lag/graphics issues?

My specs...

Acer 6920G
Intel core 2 duo 2.0ghz, 667mhz, 2mb l2 cache
Nvidia Geforce 9500M GS, 512mb, up to 1791mb - with the June 2010 drivers installed
4gb DDR2 Ram
Windows 7 64-bit
3MB/s broadband connection.
Screen res 1366 x 768, 32-bit colour

Don't use Safe Mode...

HP dv2633tx
Intel Core Duo t5550 @ 1.83Ghz
Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS 64mb
4gb DDR2 RAM
Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 64bit
1.5Mbit Internet
1280 by 800 32bit res

~40 fps when in a sparse area.
~25 fps in small wars
~8 fps in large ones, like everyone else

DirectX SM2.0 Very High Settings

Safe mode is for preventing crashes and the like. It disables optimizations and can actually slow the game down. If you want to run at bare minimum settings for better performance, simply used fixed pipeline which doesn't disable performance optimizations.

And yes, the game is running like absolute crap these days compared to in the past. Oh well. :/

That looks more than sufficient to run game
My pc:

amd athlon 4400+ 64(dualcore) @2.2 ghz
3 gigs pc 3200
nvidia 7600 gt 256 meg
fort wars round 50-60 fps usually
wz huntin 75-90
heavy load during a invasion then it drops bad to 20 -25 or less
