compatibility problems: win7 prof 64 bits
Hi there, it's me again.
I bought a new computer few days ago - or rather new parts for my old computer, including a 64-bits copy of "Windows 7 Professional". I know, that the windows version of Regnum Online works with both, 32bits and 64bits - normally. Now, when I try to install regnum to my computer, I get the following error message (I'll translate it myself, since most of you would not understand any German... probably. So in reality, the phrasing could be something different): "The release of this data/program is not compatible with the running windows version. Open up the system information of your computer to check if a x86(32-bits) or a x64(64bits) version of the program is needed and afterwards address the publisher of the software". Again, I appreciate everything that I can try. If you need to know the hardware of my PC, feel free to ask. ice

Tried to run game as admin (you know that right click "run as administrator" thing)?
p.s. I hated W7 64 version so much, I returned to 32 instantly

Odd. I am running the app on win7 X64 and no problems.
I recently upgraded as well and run it native. No problems for me except disgusting UAC (which I disabled). Was it a fresh copy you downloaded? I downloaded a copy on 29/11/2010 and that worked fine. I actually tried it again as of this posting and it is okay. Tried it both with elevated as admin and not elevated and it installed fine. Art |

Regnum runs fine at Win7 Prof x64. Simply install it as admin and set write permission at the regnum folder for your windows user account. (it's quite the best method - otherwise start Regnum as admin)
I have 4GB of RAM, at Win7 x86 I can only use 3,25GB. I love Win7 x64. PS: To disable UAC creates security problems.

yes, normally it should. If it was plausible for me, I would not have asked here ^^ Ok, I admit, the installer is a bit older than 3weeks :P (that's the last time I downloaded it ). I'm gonna try reloading the installer, but I doubt it'll work... well, we'll see later if that's it (or not). Further ideas, just in case (anybody) ?

Ok, the case is solved now. Re-downloading helped (it seems).
Thank you all^^ I still wonder why I couldn't install it with the "old" installer though...
