WarMasters Initial Atmospherics/Reviews: Horus
Heya, thought we could post our current thoughts/review on the 1.7 patch here (try to be tactful with gripes and complaints).
First off I would like to recommend that NGD have larger game fix updates (balance and bug fixes) prior to content updates. Pushing content updates with the large game fixes kind of detract from the content. I know this is difficult as it is a series of give and take, but i think that it would make for a better fit between content and game fix updates. This way changing dynamics can be attributed to a content expansion or a game fix patch. Secondly NGD needs a larger scale push towards realm (timezone) population stabilization and activity. The WarMaster expansion tries to push each realm to fight, but right now only Ignis and Alsius are fighting. Where is Syrtis? The detractor from this is that the content dynamics introduced within this update requires equal participation from each realm to keep the action going. We don't have that right now. So what about WarMasters? Well without Time-Zone balancing working between realms we have a dominant realm, a middle realm and a passive realm. The passive realm right now being Syrtis. In a couple of hours there will be a change off and Syrtis will take the mantra of the dominant realm, ignis or alsius may go to the middle ground or become passive. This does not really work well for this expansion. Having passive realms still equate to down time. Unlike Ra we are not seeing wide spread fort taking by all parties. One part that doesnt work well now is this daily quest system. I am stuck 10 away from 50 for one realm (Syrtis I only have 3/50 to give you an idea of the passivity I am referring too) after playing for about four hours and being involved in about 10 fort/castle fights. I would recommend something more attainable for playing for a couple of hours. This expansion cries for server norming in my opinion. It shows that development is geared toward larger scale servers and the lower pop servers are not as positively effected by this. After all the hype a lot of people are now kind of wondering what they were hoping for. Reversal on player xp values: This may work for Ra, but for Horus it means we will level slower than just grinding on mobs. This is a part or an excuse for some now to come war and aids in realm passivity. There are some other things but i think others will bring them up with more fervor.

lv 4 forts now have a guard captain but flag is still there so we don't have to even bother with him, is that intentional?

Haha... On Nemon it was funny: after server starts zerg shouted: GO FARM! and everyone started to grind.
Me, Amazon and one French Hunter (Jerros if I right) went to Ignis for some hunt. Welll... Hunt was awesome... But we disturbed sleeping beast called Ignis. Soon we started massive aggers-samal war. As expected it was the most massive war I ever saw on Nemon. But... there was no 50 unique players... I did about 28/50... And I don't know how much time it will take to collect all 50. Maybe Horus Syrtis was grinding too?))

That could be true as a lot of level 50 players now realize that they do not have the top rung level anymore and they know they can't level as quickly through RvR on our server as they can from grinding mobs.
To give a quick overview (i forgot to write all the numbers down), through all the fights I have been on tonight that accounted for 5 hours of game time, my XP bar only moved (at level 50) up about ~4-5%. Now these are all fights where there are between 8-25 enemies and almost equal numbers for realm-mates. Now after all that was done I got together with three other level 50s and was able to grind another 15% on top of my XP bar within about 30-40 minutes. All of the fighting and grinding was done on one 50% booster received from the x-mas quest last year. With that being said I can understand why some players would rather grind, than RvR with the numbers being so disparate. If your goal is to hit the top level and then fight, then the quickest way is to grind it out. I wish that the average player was worth 5% more XP (including group XP) than a challenging mob for each players level in order to encourage more RvR.

I don't know Syd. For me grind\war mix is always more interesting.
I don't care about how much time leveling to 60 will take or how soon I will collect war master set. I just want to relax for several hours in evening after work. It is funny. NGD do some things with desire to improve something. Rest of community turns it to shit. NGD: new items, new spells, new currency Community: boolshit, grind again NGD: XP can be obtained from enemies Community: too few XP NGD wanted community to fight more, community goes to grind. NGD wanted to bring new items and refresh game world, community whining about their items which will become useless one day. Only one thing I don't like in update is that you can start to collect war master coins only since 50lvl. Level 30 IMAO would be better. RvR is interesting when levels of players totally different. For those who speak about useless of low levels here is my prove link:

Maybe we need Fatigue again? To lower experience from grinding mob, but not from "grinding" aca.

Easiest way to anger an RA player - tell him ACA in Horus context.
