New Player (with simple questions)

hello, everybody

I just started playing Regnum 4 days ago
I decided to join the Syrtis realm
My name there is Lorja, and I am a lady magic user
(the name Lorja said it was taken, so I am Loraj here

First question, after reading the starters guide by Lawie

It says that when I use my points at the magic trainer, when I use reset_powers, that I shouldn't use the "+" button to raise the power of my spells, that I should click on the spell itself to raise power.
is that right?

so, there are spell "levels", and also power level (at the top, raise power?)
I used the "+" button at the top to raise the power level, so was that good?

I also went over to the Spanish server when I couldn't get into the English one, and I am now level 11 there, wth Loraj character
(Lorja in Horus, Loraj in Ra)

The challenge of the language barrier is alot of fun, actually, and one fellow has sort of taken me on as an apprentice, and I joined his clan.

I have to honestly say that I need to not "power level" so much as learn how to cast, what to cast when, how to stay moving with parties and not get lost, and how to position myself in a group attack, when to cast, when to wait, and watch other players attacks and learn how they do things.

When I join a party, it might look like I'm not trying to level, but i think if I learn the ways now, i will get to later levels faster, if I learn some basic techniques, and I also need to get familiar with the maps (if someone says a place to meet, it takes me a while to even figure out where it might be)

In other words, I'm totally new.
I am enjoying the game, people seem very nice.
But please remember that I'm not seeing things like a level 50 who is playing on a "new level 10 character".
It really is very, very different for me.
I can't easily find NPCs. for example, so I'm slow to sell and repair, etc.

And I was chatting alot in "general", because I thought that was for the "place" I was, and only those near me would see the words (like, if I was in a town)

To attemt to answer your questions...

You have to write the command /reset_powers to reset your powers(:P), and then you can increase them again (from your class's trainer(mage, later warlock/conjurer))

You have to level the discipline first, and then each of the powers you want. Just play around with it... there's nothing you can mess up really.

Clicking the "+" button is right, you didn't do anything wrong

Your clan should help you with war strategies, now it should be a priority to level up for you

Don't worry, everything will come with time. You might want to look at regnum.wikia.com, it's a good site about the game, even in finding npc's.

Lastly, the general tab really shows your message only to the people in your surroundings, not the whole realm. It's the "syrtis" tab that will show the message to everyone in the inner realm (not the war zone), so you didn't do anything wrong there.

You can level up skilltrees (as Mana control, Mental) with your skillpoints and specific spells with your power points (for lvl 3 the tree has to be on 11, for lvl 4 spells on 15 and for lvl 5 spells on 19/max). It doesnt matter whether you click on the + or the spell, it has the same effect and because of /reset_powers you cant do anything wrong anyway.

This page is very useful for finding mobs, areas, npcs and also some important spanish words.

General can be only read by people who are that close to you that you can see them (though there can be objects between you preventing you from seeing them of course). The realm chat (syrtis in your case) can be read by everyone who is in the inner realm (the whole area inside the great wall). Party chat messages are send to everyone in your part (p), can be seen in the general chat and can be send from all other chats by typing a * in front of the text. Clanchat is the same for ppl in the same clan, you can use a . in front of the text to write there from another chattab. This can be very useful if you are talking in clan,party and/or general to different ppl at once.

but, im starting with these forums (lots of old stuff for noobs like me

i also go and watch all the YouTube videos, which is alot of fun now.

last question, maybe, for now...

does anyone know how to make the "babylon" translation program auto-translate all text without having to click each word first? or, can anyone tell me how to get it so I can drag alot of text, hen ctrl-rightClick to get translations, at least, for one sentence?
because doing a click on each and every single word will take forever, and it will be totally useless, i think.

does anyone know the Babylon9 program a all?
or maybe another that will translate the chat screen in Ra for me, automatically?
I would ask in the spanish forums, but obviously, that would take forever too, the way my Babylon9 program is currently working.

I'm sure the servers will be up and running soon, and I can reset my powers in Horus like I did in Ra server, and get all my speed bar spalls set exactly the same on both servers too (im getting a pretty good setup for myself, I think)

I put attack spells in the 1st 3 slots, then the "curse enemy", then my heals and other party member boosts into the last 3 slots.
and, of course, dance is in there, and one of my mounts.
i took out "rest" because i use the "R" key for that, and i took out all the chats off my quickbars too (no need for quickbars, not me)

Now, i'm going to look at all the Horus clan ratings.
maybe i'll see one i like, and see if they will accept a noob.
noob, hehe, new word for me (i always thought it was "newbie", hehe)

Welcome to the game, to conjury, and to Syrtis!

Feel welcome asking your questions in Syrtis chat. That is the channel that will reach everyone from initiation zone all the way up to the great wall. Unfortunately there is no all-realm chat with people in the warzone so one must use private chat, party chat or clan chat. Those of cours depend on meeting and befriending people, so hope you are making some friends in the game.

Kitty is in syrtis chat a great deal and a wonderful resource for ingame questions. On the net, in addition to this forum (and the Inquisition clan site which is terrific) wikia has a decent covering of Regnum including quests.
