Ask NGD - Bump 2
Ask NGD - bump
Do you plan to answer us those 2 questions you owe us? Week 5 (clan system) and week 6 (land expansion).

About clans:
We have no plans to make really significant improvements for the clan system this year. As a minimum We'd like to implement voting systems and means to change the "ownership" of the clans. Please feel free to discuss about clan improvements at the suggestions forums. About the landmass: We have plans for a new island in the ignis frontier zone, an RVR instance, a PVP instance and a PVE instance. Yes we are working on an instancing system. Although Instances kind of go against the original design of the game, is the only way to cater also to the ones who prefer the constant loop between two forts and a bridge instead of the full RVR / Invasion mechanics. Also, it will work as a way for low level players to take part on the RVR in a controlled location (with other players of a similar level) Also they are really needed for good PVE boss encounters and a fully featured PVP and team PVP colliseum. |

Just try to avoid what happened to warhammer, no one in the warzone, everyone in instances. No problem on Ra, but it could kill Horus. (Like Kitsunie said) I think you can achieve a constant loop even in a open war zone, but I don't know for sure of course. Right now there's however much room for improvement (more motivation for players to capture forts). Thank you!

Our conclusion is the following. Instances are more controllable. we can turn them on and off. and they are easier to fill to the point of them becoming balanced and interesting. Some instances we can even be cross server instances. We are following the premise that we need to broaden the player experience. There are people who like huge wars, there are also people who like smaller battles where individual player skill or individual gains seem more evident. We cannot make that happen in the same game space as it create conflicts within the community - some people saying hay we are being invaded and other people saying get out of here i'm having fun in my bridge loop. In the end, we need to think about features that will increase the player base on low population servers, not only about how new features will affect gameplay on such servers. it's complicated, feel free to post your feelings |

Is that what I think it is? Oh... My... Okay, my feelings: If instances just are about smaller encounters then there's absolutely no problem. Still, I guess you'd need to improve the war zone a bit first to make not that many players "flee" into instances. Much of that will be prevented with the old saves, but there's still room for improvement. (Like a combination between the old and the current save system, the idea of a save nearer to enemies isn't that bad, just the implementation was, like improvements to invasions, making vulnerability times etc. more dependent on how the fort wars are going on) Oh and if you REALLY want to boost fort wars - make fort wars more rewarding (in terms of exp) than killing mobs. I doubt Ra could handle this, though

To avoid the istance whores, just put on istance a cooldown.
You can enter the instance again only after 48 hours from the last one. This is just an example....the CD could also be 1 week,4 days ecc... Once you test it,and see the dinamics of wars, you could know what to do, Anyway, great news, and great reaction from ALL the GM'S,i see many answer to all thread...we feel the presence, and we appreciate it so much. |
