[Tipp] Move Buff/Debuff icon location
Some of you mightve discovered that already but i thought id share:
Since the new UI especially on bigger resolutions the new Icon location on screen is more then annoying since Healt/Mana and Icons are on opposing sides of the screen. Additionally broken items might overlap with the BuffDebuff Icons. I noticed a small trick that allows to "move" those icons horizontally into the middle of the screen, next to the target Health bar. Howto: 1. Change your display resolution in the game.cfg located in the regnum main directory. ( Linux that would be ../regnum/game.cfg | windows that would be ..\Regnum Online\game.cfg ) to a horizontal value of 730 (Smaller value will move it more to the left, bigger more to the right side) and save it. 2. Log into the launcher. Make sure to start the game in windowed mode (Take the check out of "Full screen", even when you change it to fullscreen later). This you do in the launcher options menu. You should also see the modified display resolution from the game.cfg there. 3. Log fully in, so youre in the world with your desired character, go into the Video options and change the display resolution to your desired one. Notice: If you have a pet active, dismiss it before changing the resolution! 4. You should now see the buffs positioned near the target bar, in your desired resolution. Here its 1920x1080: 5. If you want to you can now hit [Alt]+[Enter] to get into Fullscreen. And in case you dismissed your pet before, reviving it now will give you a working pet bar. (Step 1 and 2 should only be needed setting it up for the first time.) Enjoy! Last edited by _Enio_; 01-11-2012 at 10:35 PM. Reason: Pet bar bug, Windowed mode on login seems to be needed to work aswell, at least on some pcs/monitors. |

I'll make sure to test it out at home to make sure it doesn't affect negatively while on live gameplay. If it doesn't it would be great to actually set this thread as a sticky, and make a spanish version of it, offering the users the chance to customize their active spells icons positions as they please. Regards! ^^ |

In my opinion prefer them under the Name and Hp/Mana values. But I think it's still cool

The best solution would be to have a separate option of this either in an XML file that can be edited by users (could allow other user customizations at in the future) or some option in the game.cfg (i.e.: vg_buff_pos_x, vg_buff_pos_y). But yes, we all know somethings to hit live can take a while and until then this can make life way easier, regarding RO at least^^ Edit: Oh and please, please, dont fix that bug before adding an option to move the Icons.. Thanks. Last edited by _Enio_; 01-11-2012 at 07:02 PM. |

So either have it halfway under the target bar, or like on this workaround shown next to it. Imo Its more clean on the edges of the screen but sure, a full customization ability would suit the best to fulfil evryones needs. |
