Why does Alsius have Thorkul as a boss?

So I hear Syrtis killed Thorkul last night, even though I missed the action I have always wondered as cool as the massive worm is it does not make sense to have him as their boss (unless I’m missing something). Nowhere that I can see does he appear in any artwork, sculpture or in game lore. Eve and Daen Rha on the other hand have a back story and place in the “history” of the realm. From my observations a Manticore should be the rightful Alsius boss, they appear in almost every painting, fort sculpture and maybe even the login of Alsius characters. Look at the pics to see what I mean. As far as Thorky goes rather than deleting the hard work creating him just move him to CI and buff him even more, then during CI events he can spawn every 36 hours and require almost everyone from all realms to take him down … a common enemy once a year. Of course there are far more important things like balance and bugs to fix first but just an idea.

Manticore lol? How'd ya explain existing of 8th epic boss in game then :P?

Well like I said in the first post, move Thorkul to CI, I'm sure they could come up with some story as to why he lives/moved there (prob because he was sick of having alsius save 5 mtrs away). So 6 bosses as per normal and 1 uber boss on CI .. Ngd could have access to him as a reward for an event or at xmas. Just to be clear I dont want heaps more bosses I'd rather keep this RvR then PvE game with millions of bosses, but atm CI is wasted for like 95% of the year.

Well. There is 8th epic boss (7th is FSM) which is..... white lion

but without wings and AoE. Compensated by decent regen/armor/HP

Its easy actually. All the bosses play poker when they are waiting to re spawn.
Manticore lost too many times and came broke. He loaned money from here and there and never paid back. Then everyone decided to ban him from poker club

Well Manticore is seems to be their protector, having him displayed everywhere.
I would put maybe Smirraz? Then again, he is very similar to Thorkul. Maybe he is one of lesser cousins or something?
Also, is there some information on Manticore? Like the background story like Evendim, etc?

But why would be have our arch-enemy on our own capital city relaxing on a fountain? Doesn't really make sence to me. I get your point though.

I don't. The winged wolf Siulas (that always looks like a lion) is more like our hero, and in no way an enemy. Proof:

I understand what you mean, and I partly agree. But as said, it seems that Alsius praise winged wolf / manticore like creature as their protector and a model of might, strength and courage. Which really cant be their supernatural realm enemy. Though I have the feeling that overall RO lore is not planned and tailored to be consistent and interconnected between realms and history events.

Taking into account Alsius terrain and overall story / culture (Nordic like), I can only think of one (Frost Wyrm) but we already have 3 dragons (though dragon like bones can be seen in init and Warzone too (the end of Imp beach if I remember well)).

But Thorkul, it can be improved. Instead of being static worm, he can be upgraded to get out of the hole and move around. Like this:
