About the FOV values
Hi everyone!
After several tests on the new client (graphics engine) we concluded that we could perform a slight adjustment to the FOV value (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_o...in_video_games) that Regnum Online uses. This value, due to astethics, performance and gameplay reasons, has been configured on 45 since the very beginning of Regnum. We know that some players manually altered this value in the configuration file, obtaining a notorious advantage in combat situations and generating a great number of false reports related to bad performance (low FPS rate), by using illogical FOV values. Due to this, we will perform the following adjustments: -For Widescreen Resolutions (16:9 for example), FOV value will be set on 55. -For Standard Resolutions (4:3 for example), FOV value will be set on 60. With these adjustements the general performance is affected on a 5% percent, because the ammount of objects being draw on screen is bigger. However, we preferred to adopt the feeling of improved dinamism that this change causes. Regards! PS: This changes made be applied on next week.

10 MB update only for change fov? Are you fuckin kidding me? What else you changed/nerfed/blocked ?
You want respect from us but you play with us like with children making hidden updates. I type that coz I don't believe you anymore, it's illogical that 'program' which check what ratio you use and change fov value have 10 MB...

I started use fov 70, when updated new forts, is ridiculous fight to capture fort as ranged class and can't see enemys on wall and floor enemies in same time,...
In real life we have peripheral vision, fov 70 with new forts and castles help a little bit to see (fov 70 is not enough to see enemies on wall and castle gate). disproportion?? fov 55 help a little bit, but not enough for me! I never had difficulties with fov 45 in old forts and castles, think about it! |

Thanks for taking this into consideration.
The old default value was a bit short for a 3rd person view RPG. I think this is a good compromise both for the users that used to edit this value to even or higher values and the ones that always played with default settings. Quote:
