If you want some challenge go for Alsius or Ignis. It may entertain you more there.
As for races normally ppl choose the highest race for constitution for a knight(warrior), Strength for a barbarian(warrior), Dexterity for Hunter/Marks(Archers) and Intelligence for Warlock/Conjurer(Mages)
That's pretty much most people choose from.

If you don't care about attributes, just go with the race you like most

It's personal preference haha.
Anyway's welcome to the game, I would recommend joining either Alsius or Ignis.
