Stormchild, the novel

Shameless plug for my novel Stormchild. It falls within the genre of Epic Fantasy Adventure, but if you're looking for elves, dragons and fairies, you'll find none within as it's not that type of novel.

It does have a lot of action and original lore, and a few main-characters with their own story-lines which overlap and diverge through three books: The Twisting Fates, The Rise of the Dark Spectrum, The Battle for Tyralan.

Since the setting and background is pretty thick, it takes till about chapter V or VI for everything to solidify, but that's the intent. You cannot build a house without first having a strong foundation.

Opinions and comments are appreciated as this was more of a fun distraction for me than something I'll hang my hat upon.

One more thing: It's written in the format of a storyteller verbally telling a story (orrative-fashion). As such, the prose is older, drawn out and more deliberate and much of the grammar/spelling is formatted in older British/English. I'll admit that it takes some getting used to, but it in itself was intentional to fit the ambiance of the setting itself.

Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

It's a single novel, broken up into three "Acts" but since it's not a play, I called the acts "Books". The idea was that since the story was "told" through a stylized oral source (over three nights), each act would represent a single "story-telling session" from the narrative point of view of the third-person storyteller.

Wow Kyro I'm so proud. I'm so glad this all finally came together for you. I'd love to buy it, but I don't have a kindle or other device. Will it be available in a physical copy? Call me old fashioned, but you can't beat it.

If you have an android device, there is a kindle app available! If not, I think there is a kindle software package for PCs, but I agree, I'm not a big fan of reading on electronic devices, but for independent projects I don't mind so much!

And there are conversion programs (Calibre, among others) which can convert *.mobi files (kindle) to *.epub or *.pdf.

Also, reading on a computer isn't hard on the eyes if you invert the colors (white text on black background, like this forum's default color scheme).
