Arrow material/quality?
Has anyone ever found a statistically significant difference between arrows of different materials and/or qualities?
A friend and I did some testing on a fort door, and could not find any reason to prefer the higher quality arrows. Is it that arrows fall under the same classification of material/quality that every other gear in the game does, only that there is no hit% / damage difference between the two? And if there is a difference between the two, why would this information be hidden from both the character page as well as the item description? |

I doubt there are any hidden bonuses, it's far more likely that arrows simply have a bonus multiplier of 0 for hit-chance and damage bonuses from material/quality/enchantment. So I'd say getting higher quality arrows is most likely a waste of gold if you can get the same base damage on cheaper arrows.
You can refer to this thread for details on how material, quality and enchantment (special, magical, epic) affect different stats of items. |

Actually, when you equip higher quality arrows, it does say in game that they do more damages (in the character window). I never tested if that was the case, though, so can't really tell.
Or at least this was like that. I haven't checked if that didn't change...

All items have to be unequipped and re-equipped to show the right value, by the way. |

As far as I know, since the "quivers" update, the highest tier arrows are daggerfang (marks only version) and Leopard Fang (hunter only equivalent) which are the class-specific lvl 60 slash damage arrows. Standard archer daggerfangs have less damage and are piercing instead, making them worse - but from lvl 55-60 base dmg stays the same for each version of the quiver, no matter whether they are Iron or Alloy Steel. |
