[Roleplaying Community] So, what about RP in a MMORPG?

Hello there,

I am a new player from Steam and I am just making this thread in the hopes to get some information, I'm still arguing with the controls of CoR but right now I'm wondering what and if there is a Roleplaying community for this game, if so how is Roleplay best executed in a game like this?

Hm, RolePlay stuff in MMORAGNaFaFG? Should work.
On topic, i believe there were some threads regarding that but they all are buried deep in forums.

When I first started playing this game, I tried to roleplay for approximately the first 1.5 days...
Barely anyone else I met thought that was any interesting, so eventually I gave it up altogether.

In retrospect I've come to think this game is just not RP-friendly enough to attract enough players that wants to do this. It's not very immersive, and it has very few ways to interact with the environment, or ways your character can express feelings, except by text.

And there are no ways to communicate between realms in game, so roleplaying in the warzone will be over quite soon...

vast majority of Regnum players doesn't care about role playing.

The game doesn't encourage roleplaying either. We can always reset our spells via one command, and there are not any professions, not any crafting and such thing in the game. We have also no char profiles like in Planeshift for example.

So roleplaying doesn't fit well into Regnum IMHO.

I'm not so sure about that, some barbs play the brainless psychopath role quite well. Try it in realm chat, there's sometimes a few who pick up on it and I've had some good laughs getting in character in the past

absolutely, thank god there is still magic in our realms..
because magic requires brains.. thus smart people you can talk with ^^

also.. harder to offend so I dont get in trouble :3

I have only come across one player in recent times who RP's his char -- "Angry Drunk Dwarf". He is VERY good with it, and downright hilarious at times.
