Cuaj is right from one standpoint, we DO need players that know how to play. But new players in the WZ DON'T know how to play. "Shouted Orders" by players who DO know how to play can coordinate our new players into an effective and decisive asset- while ALSO teaching them to play at the same time.

Clearly, we do. Honestly though, it stuns me that Cuajoneta thinks i don't know how to play. Oh well, whatever. |
I was quite against people shouting orders before because it made them look like pompous pricks to me. But when I started to look into things more objectively, I realized that a lot of good has come out of people giving out orders. While some just ignore these people, a majority of others follow sometimes unconsciously causing those who ignore these orders to follow suit.
Val is a pretty good player, and most of the time there is merit to his tactics and I appreciate his efforts in coordinating war movements. Although sometimes I have to agree that he can get a little too enthusiastic and start dissing people a little too quickly. :P |

In an ideal world i or someone else would say "Stone! we really need all hands!", and everyone would just go.
But after dying repeatedly(along with all the other players that care enough to help out) and seeing all kinds of people training or jajajajaja'ing in/near save(pretty common, as we all know), the old NCO in me comes out. I will definitely say things like: "MOVE YOUR LAZY ASSES, WE NEED YOU AT STONE! or QUIT YOUR JAJAJAJA AT SAVE AND GET YOUR POINTY EARED ASSES TO STONE!" It would be best if fellow players chalked it up to good RP (akin to the famous "You dogs move!" lines you'll see in a lot of war movies, etc), and didn't take it as a personal insult, but that is beyond my control. However, much like shouting, it does work. I am convinced that sometimes players come to help just to shut me up. Eh...whatever it takes. It was the same when i was in the military. Troops would surmount almost any obstacle to get thier Sgt. to STFU. ;) |
